As part of ongoing \u2018Military Civic Action\u2019 projects being undertaken by 31 Assam Rifles under aegis of headquarters 7 Sector Assam Rifles and headquarter IGAR (N), four plastic water storage tanks of 1000 Ltrs each were donated to Watiyim and Mayamiti villages on March 4. Various projects have been taken up by Assam Rifles in Mokokchung district to extend assistance to local populace as part of the area development. The GBs and villagers conveyed their gratitude to the Assam Rifles for this noble gesture and requested for more such help in future.\nSEANGHA TANGTEN: Continuing its endeavour towards the upliftment of locals and as part of ongoing civic action programme, 33 Assam Rifles presented three Solar Street lights to the people of Seangha Tangten village on February 22. The village authorities and NGOs acknowledged commitment of Assam Rifles towards the local population in regard to infrastructure and human resource development. They also expressed their appreciation and willingness to cooperate with the security forces in whatever way they can in future. The presentation ceremony was attended by Civil administration including village Angh, GBs, Chairman & NGOs. They also appreciated the sincere efforts undertaken by Assam Rifles in reaching out to the population living in remote villages of Nagaland.
\nCHENMOHO: In yet another step toward upliftment of living conditions of locals in remote border area, a five thousand litres water storage tank was constructed by the Assam Rifles in Chenmoho.According to AR release, Chenmoho is a remote village, 57 km from Mon, near the Indo-Myanmar border wherein the local face scarcity of drinking water due to which a lot of hardship is caused to the families. The project was inaugurated and handed over to the villagers on February 15 in presence of officials of civil administration including villagers and NGO\u2019s. The villagers expressed their gratitude towards the Assam Rifles.
\nGMS BUNGSANG: 37 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ 6 Sector AR distributed computers, peripherals and furniture to govt middle school, Bungsang under OP SAMARITAN project. A total of four computers with accessories and computer tables\/chairs were donated to the school.The project was aimed at improving the quality of education in rural areas of Dimapur district keeping in view of very limited information technology facilities for students at government schools. The village council and teachers of Government Middle School Bungsang expressed their gratitude and positively acknowledged the noble step of enlightening the student\u2019s career with computer education to the Assam Rifles.
\nPFUTSERO COLLEGE: 11 Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarter 5 Sector Assam Rifles has distributed nearly 300 books worth Rs. 1,34,700 (One Lakh thirty four thousand seven hundred) to Pfutsero College, Phek District (Nagaland) on March 11. The books were provided to ensure better education to the students and easier access to the books. The faculty and students of the Pfutsero College expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Assam Rifles for their continuous support, co-operation and assistance during the inauguration ceremony.
\nKANJANG: A medical camp was organised by 46 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ 5 Sector Assam Rifles on March 13 at Village Kanjang. Altogether 90 persons were examined by RMO 46 Assam Rifles and medicines were distributed. It is the endeavor of security forces to provide best possible medical help to people staying in the remote areas of Phek. Keeping in the requests and need more such camps are planned in the future as well.
\nWOKHA: Maj Gen M M Naravane, SM, Inspector General Assam Rifles (North), on his visit to Wokha interacted with the members of the Lotha HoHo, Kyong Eloe HoHo, representatives of Kyong Students Union, Wokha dist GB Union and Wokha dist chairman association on March 12. Civil society members put forward their point of views and issues related to development and upliftment of the district as a whole was discussed. The IGAR emphasized on the importance of the civil society and the Assam Rifles to work together towards achieving a common goal of bringing about peace and tranquility in the state. He also urged the civil society members to forward proposals for projects, which would be self sustaining and help in employment generation.
