{"id":163734,"date":"2014-03-09T01:09:06","date_gmt":"2014-03-09T01:09:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2014\/03\/09\/acaut-condemns-npgs-using-nagaland-for-christ-for-extortion\/"},"modified":"2014-03-09T01:09:06","modified_gmt":"2014-03-09T01:09:06","slug":"acaut-condemns-npgs-using-nagaland-for-christ-for-extortion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2014\/03\/09\/acaut-condemns-npgs-using-nagaland-for-christ-for-extortion\/","title":{"rendered":"ACAUT condemns NPGs using \u2018Nagaland for Christ\u2019 for extortion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/>Stating that \u201cnever has Christ been so much abused as in Nagaland today\u201d with the use of the slogan \u2018Nagaland for Christ\u2019 by Naga Political Groups (NPGs), Action Committee Against Unabated Taxation (ACAUT) Nagaland, rued that the \u201cgood intention\u201d by \u201ccertain sections of our society\u201d had been \u201ccompletely eroded now\u201d.<br \/>\nACAUT media cell maintained, that instead of the slogan being used as a guide for Nagas to the next spiritual level and inspire them to live a \u201cgood Christian citizens\u201d, the slogan instead, is synonymous with all the wrong kind of activities such as &#8211; unabated taxation, factional killings and mayhem.<br \/>\nACAUT asserted that the hijack of the slogan and its misuse by the NPGs was a \u201cgross distortion of our faith\u201d and that the \u201csilence of the church\u201d on this issue was the prime reason why young Nagas have become \u201cskeptical\u201d of the Naga movement and the institution of the church. <br \/>\nACAUT said it was amazing that NPGs collect tax with the \u201csacrosanct words stamped on the taxation slips and writing pads\u201d while civil society was reduced to mute bystanders. Stating that the \u201csheer magnitude of this hypocrisy is not lost on many\u201d ACAUT added it was a \u201cstaggering example of where we have faltered as a society\u201d.<br \/>\nIn the light of the above ACAUT Nagaland reiterated its rejection of the use of the slogan \u2018Nagaland for Christ\u2019 by the NPGs for legitimising their anti-people activities. ACAUT also condemned the \u201cconcerted attempt to legitimise\u201d what were essentially illegal activities \u201cby invoking divine sanction which is simply blasphemous\u201d. <br \/>\nIt also said NPGs issuing \u201ctax demands under the cover of Nagaland for Christ is deemed anti-Naga\u201d. Further ACAUT vehemently condemned the other practise of the NPGs in employing Illegal Bangladeshi Immigrants(IBIs) for carrying out \u201ctheir extortion activities\u201d with \u2018Nagaland for Christ\u2019 printed in the \u201ctaxation slips\u201d. <br \/>\nACAUT said any other entity other than church using the slogan in non-spiritual matters profaned Christian faith and that using it for taxation activity was \u201cnothing but anti-Christian and anti-people\u201d.
