\nIn a press release, NBCC prayed that the Almighty God receives the victim in His mercy, and keeps his family and beloved ones in His Love, granting them courage and patience in their grieving.
\n\u201cWe, including all the Baptist Associations, churches and staff of the Council, cannot but condemn this inhumane act and manifest our feelings of solidarity with the family of the victim,\u201d stated the NBCC, adding that such barbaric act leading to the taking of a young life was morally and ethically unacceptable and against God himself.
\nExpressing pain over the increasing violence in Nagaland, the NBCC called upon the law enforcing authorities to immediately bring to book the perpetrators of such heinous crimes and executive justice without delay.
\n\u201cHuman life is a gift of God and is infinitely precious and calls upon one and all to love, cherish and protect the sanctity of life and promote the exercise of true freedom and justice in our land,\u201d the release stated.
\nCNTC condoles
\nCentral Nagaland Tribal Council (CNTC) expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family of late Akivito, a student of Christian Hr. Secondary School Dimapur, who was brutally assaulted and succumbed to his injuries on December 30.
\nCNTC general secretary Imtinochet and secretary P&I Longshi Ezing said it was shocked to learn that the murder was alleged to have been \u201ccommitted by a Naga in connivance with a non-local\u201d.
\nWhile condemning the accused, CNTC lauded the law enforcing agencies, investigating officer and Special Operation Team etc. for taking swift action in apprehending the main accused.
\nCNTC further urged the authority concerned to award befitting punishment to the accused involved in the murder.
\nIt said CNTC shall not be a silent spectator and would continue to keep track with the investigation and trial of the case.
\nRSUD: Rongmei Students\u2019 Union Dimapur (RSUD) vehemently condemned the assault and subsequently death of Akivito Sumi.
\nRSUD lamented \u201cour brother\u2019s blood was spilt at our own homeland by mere non locals favored by our own Naga brothers and it\u2019s sad to state that our own Naga Students are not safe in our own homeland.\u201d
\nThe union urged the concerned authority to expedite the matter with due urgency to book all the culprits involved in the crimes and award befitting punishment with non bailable warrant. Rongmei Students\u2019 Union Dimapur expressed its deepest condolences to the bereaved family.
\nZRSU: Zunheboto Range Students\u2019 Union (ZRSU) has condemned the brutal murder of Akivito A. Sumi on December 28, saying such act was not applicable in a Naga society.
\nIn a press release, ZRSU stated that such unwarranted and inhuman act in the society should be discouraged by taking severe action against the culprits.
\nFurther, the union expressed its heartiest condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace
\nZPOD: Zeliang People Organization Dimapur (ZPOD) has strongly condemned the December 28 incident at new market\/church road, Dimapur that led to the death of an innocent student.
\nZPO has called upon all right thinking citizens to come together and stand up for justice and fight the anti-social element prevailing in the land.
\nFurther, ZPO requested the administrative authorities to take up the matter seriously and book the culprits at the earliest before the situation went out of hand. ZPO also expressed deep pain and sympathy to the bereaved family.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
