{"id":167482,"date":"2013-01-20T23:32:22","date_gmt":"2013-01-20T23:32:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2013\/01\/20\/kpc-observes-12th-foundation-day\/"},"modified":"2013-01-20T23:32:22","modified_gmt":"2013-01-20T23:32:22","slug":"kpc-observes-12th-foundation-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2013\/01\/20\/kpc-observes-12th-foundation-day\/","title":{"rendered":"KPC observes 12th foundation day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/BDBTJZXUSQOEMCZPFDMB.jpg>Kohima Press Club (KPC) observed its 12th foundation day Sunday with Dz\u00fcvinuo The\u00fcnuo, deputy director IPR Nagaland as the special guest at KPC conference hall Kohima.<\/p>\n<p>Dz\u00fcvinuo, addressing the gathering, said journalists were the most informed group and has a great role to play for the betterment of society. <\/p>\n<p>Acknowledging the media in the state, she said media persons in the state were doing a \u201ccommendable\u201d job and also encouraged them to play a positive role in serving the society.<\/p>\n<p>She said people have become dependent on the media for information, opinion, idea, participation in democratic activities, empowerment etc. <\/p>\n<p>More than half of the world population i.e. 2.5 billion read newspapers and other media, she added.<br \/>\nWhile encouraging the media fraternity to discharge their duties sincerely, she also pointed out some of the criteria of good journalism like regular establishment of facts, comparison of sources, consent for quality of expression in reporting news with precision and without being bias etc.<\/p>\n<p>The programme was led by Vish\u00fc Rita Krocha general secretary, KPC, welcome address by Kopelo Krome president KPC, short speech by H. Chishi senior member KPC, special song dedicated to late Daiho by Athe Rhi KPC member, while Ketu vice president KPC proposed vote of thanks.<\/p>\n<p>One minute silence was observed in memory of late Daiho Mao.
