A new colony has come up in Dimapur with the recognition of \u201cSunrise Colony\u201d, Burma Camp, Dimapur.\nA function organized to mark the recognition of the colony was graced by parliamentary secretary for IT&C, science & technology, technical education and taxes, Tovihoto Ayemi as chief guest held at N. Mhonlomo Ovun Compound December 19.
\nCongratulating the pioneers in establishing the colony who had spent time and efforts for the recognition of a separate colony, Tovihoto said the name of the colony \u201cSunrise Colony\u201d was refreshing and signified a dawn of a new day, chapter and a new era.
\nAlso, terming that the recognition of the colony was indeed a \u201cred letter day\u201d and also a historic and joyous moment, the parliamentary secretary urged the residents of the colony to remember all those pioneers who had contributed to realization of their dreams and visions.
\nAsserting \u201crespect cannot be demanded\u201d but should be earned through humbleness, Tovihoto said in order to live harmoniously, one should learn how to co-exist peacefully amongst the neighbouring colonies by inculcating in them the spirit of \u201coneness\u201d.
\nFurther, he urged the residents and the colony leaders to make it a \u201cmodel colony\u201d by building a peaceful relationship with other colonies. He also appealed to the colony leaders to check illegal activities within its jurisdiction.
\nEarlier, Tovihoto unveiled the monolith of the celebration along with the guest of honour, T.N. Manen. The land owner of the colony, former state additional chief secretary and commissioner, T.N Manen, who was the guest of honour, encouraged the young minds to bring about a change in the locality by letting all to live harmoniously irrespective of caste, creed and religion.
\nThe programme, which was moderated by Zilanbeni Ezung started with an invocation prayer, Rev. Meren, celebration melody was presented by women of Sunrise Colony, chairman, Sunrise Colony, L. Vihoto Yepthomi, welcomed the gathering, a special number was presented by Timothy Kamei, vote of thanks was proposed by Athempu Kamei, while the benediction was pronounced by RBF pastor, Gangmuna.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
