{"id":167824,"date":"2013-01-19T00:20:59","date_gmt":"2013-01-19T00:20:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2013\/01\/19\/catholics-appeal-anatongre-village-council\/"},"modified":"2013-01-19T00:20:59","modified_gmt":"2013-01-19T00:20:59","slug":"catholics-appeal-anatongre-village-council","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2013\/01\/19\/catholics-appeal-anatongre-village-council\/","title":{"rendered":"Catholics appeal Anatongre Village Council"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/>Following the decision of the Anatongre Village Council (AVC), Anatongre Citizens Union (ACU) and Anatongre Students\u2019 Union (ASU) to \u201cnot allow or establish Catholic Church\u201d in the village, Catholic Association of Nagaland (CAN) has appealed to Anatongre Village (Kiphire district), leaders to allow \u201creason and goodwill\u201d to prevail. <\/p>\n<p>CAN also implored the state government to address the inter-denominational issue that has been affecting the village since 2010.<\/p>\n<p>In a press release, CAN president Nosazol Charles and secretary general Elias T. Lotha termed as \u201crepulsive and inhuman\u201d the decision of AVC, ACU and ASU who decided to jointly respond to the district administration urging it \u201cnot to issue order till\u201d a report regarding the establishment or construction of the Catholic Church at Anatongree village in the interest of the public.<\/p>\n<p>CAN reminded that the Catholic at Anatongre was \u201cviolently vandalized\u201d by the villagers belonging to \u201cBaptist alignment\u201d on July 9, 2010. <\/p>\n<p>It also reminded that the district administration had on May 23, 2012 made it clear that \u201csuch local resolutions\u201d was illegal. <\/p>\n<p>As deadlock continued, the administration has also issued directives to the village council \u201cnot to interfere in any form the fundamental right\u2026to practice and profess any religion\/denomination in the village including the right to construct religious structure\/churches.\u201d <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Following the decision of the Anatongre Village Council (AVC), Anatongre Citizens Union (ACU) and Anatongre Students\u2019 Union (ASU) to \u201cnot allow or establish Catholic Church\u201d in the village, Catholic Association of Nagaland (CAN) has appealed to Anatongre Village (Kiphire district), leaders to allow \u201creason and goodwill\u201d to prevail.
