{"id":168155,"date":"2013-01-08T22:53:36","date_gmt":"2013-01-08T22:53:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2013\/01\/08\/ameuw-protest-against-non-payment\/"},"modified":"2013-01-08T22:53:36","modified_gmt":"2013-01-08T22:53:36","slug":"ameuw-protest-against-non-payment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2013\/01\/08\/ameuw-protest-against-non-payment\/","title":{"rendered":"AMEUW protest against non-payment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/BTJZXVJPXNKZPEAFJRGF.jpg>Members of Aggrieved Medical Employees Union, Wokha (AMEUW) have been staging a peaceful protest at the office of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) here at Wokha since Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The protesters, mostly comprising of medical attendants, lab assistants, sweepers, cooks, peons, malis, dressers, ayahs, helpers, etc., are staging a sit-in protest at the CMO office from 9:30 a.m. till 4 p.m. carrying placards that read: \u201cDon\u2019t let us Die of Hunger\u201d, \u201cTreat us like Human Beings\u201d, \u201cWe want Justice\u201d, \u201cRelease our Salaries\u201d, etc. <\/p>\n<p>The protest leaders informed Nagaland Post that since Monday they have boycotted the normal functioning of office and that their protest would go on indefinitely. <\/p>\n<p>District administration and police are also present at the site to ensure that the protest passes off peacefully.<\/p>\n<p>The protesters on Monday submitted a memorandum to the health and family welfare principal director demanding release of salaries and re-instatement of services for 70 odd medical employees under CMO Wokha who had been directed to desist from attending office with effect from May 2012 vide Letter No. DHFW-3\/117\/Gd-IV\/General\/2010 (pt) dated Kohima, on April 30, 2012 and whose salaries were held up from April 2012 till date as their services were under scrutiny by the vigilance and anti-corruption agency.<\/p>\n<p>The AMEUW memorandum further cautioned that it would \u2018gherao\u2019 the CMO office establishment from January 7 to press for their demand followed by hunger strike.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Members of Aggrieved Medical Employees Union, Wokha (AMEUW) have been staging a peaceful protest at the office of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) here at Wokha since Monday.
