Tsathrise Sangtam alleged that NSCN (I-M) United Sangtam Region (USR) CAO Thronglise Sangtam was openly campaigning for Congress candidate H. Tsasepi Sangtam from 59 A\/C.<\/p>\n<p>Tsathrise alleged that Thronglise Sangtam along with some armed cadres were forcefully convening meeting with villagers to support and vote for the INC candidate. <\/p>\n<p>It also alleged that they were threatening public with dire consequence if they did not vote for INC candidate in the ensuing state general election saying direction was served from \u2018kilo kilonser\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Expressing displeasure over the \u201cforceful involvement\u201d of Thronglise, NPF has sought clarification from NSCN (I-M) authority.<\/p>\n<p>According Tsathrise, as per the FIR lodge with Kiphire police station Thursday, one Maruti Gypsy (U\/R) belonging to NSCN (I-M) was seized by party youths at Sitimi village at around 1.45 p.m. February 14. The seized vehicle was said to be kept at NPF Youth camp at Sitimi Town.<\/p>\n<p>In connection with this, Tsathrise has also submitted a letter addressed to the DC and returning officer Kiphire.<br \/>\nNPF party has appealed to the DC to take remedial measure to prevent further conflict in the region and to maintain peace during election.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold; color: #ff0000;\">Complaint against NSCN (K) involvement<\/span><br \/>\nKohima, Feb 14: Congress candidate from 33 Suruhuto assembly constituency, Kiyezhe Aye has lodged a complaint against the alleged involvement of NSCN (K) and asked the government to promulgate 144 CrPc in the constituency.<\/p>\n<p>In a compliant letter to the deputy commissioner and returning officer, Zunheboto, Aye said in 2008 election also NSCN (K) had involved in support of sitting representative from the constituency, which had witnessed such as underage voting, intimidation by NSCN (K), booth capturing, proxy voting and impersonation in voting. The constituency has 14413 voters.<\/p>\n<p>He has demanded for installation of CCTVs in all polling booths in the constituency. The party cautioned that if involvement of faction was not stopped there would be loss of properties and lives in the few days from now.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn 2008 elections too the lack of adequate security arrangements had greatly disillusioned thousands of voter, particularly INC voters who were being constantly threatened by the supporters of the Independent Candidate openly backed by the underground forces who also happen to have their designated camp in Surumi Village, the same Village from where the Independent Candidate hails from\u201d the Congress complained. <\/p>\n<p>The party said in on March 8 and 9, 2008 NSCN (K) cadres along with the Independent supporters blocked the roads to Suruhuto town by felling trees, rolling boulders and digging wide drains on the roads.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere has been widespread electoral offences and total corruption in the election model code of conduct in all the three Surumi Village Polling Stations\u201d the Congress said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NPF 59 A\/C condemns NSCN (I-M)\u2019s involvement Naga People\u2019s Front (NPF) 59 Seyochung-Sitimi assembly constituency has condemned the alleged involvement of NSCN (I-M) in the ensuing state general election campaign in the constituency.
