{"id":168668,"date":"2013-12-17T00:08:07","date_gmt":"2013-12-17T00:08:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2013\/12\/17\/kmc-holds-annual-inter-ward-cleanliness-competition-2013\/"},"modified":"2013-12-17T00:08:07","modified_gmt":"2013-12-17T00:08:07","slug":"kmc-holds-annual-inter-ward-cleanliness-competition-2013","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2013\/12\/17\/kmc-holds-annual-inter-ward-cleanliness-competition-2013\/","title":{"rendered":"KMC holds annual Inter-Ward Cleanliness Competition 2013"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/KGWDSJHNTEYIHKGSKCFM.jpg>Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) held its Annual Inter-Ward Cleanliness Competition cum Pre-Christmas on the theme \u201cToward Zero Waste\u201d at Zonal Council Hall December 16 with Adviser NRE, MTF &amp; Chairman DPDB, Kohima Khriehu Liezietsu as chief guest.<br \/>\nAs an annual event since 2011, KMC has been organizing the Inter-Ward Cleanliness Competition with the 19 wards under its jurisdiction basing on yearlong maintenance of cleanliness, beautification, illumination &amp; nativity with a running trophies, certificates &amp; cash prize of Rs.50,000, Rs.30,000 and Rs.15,000.<br \/>\nThis year the cash prizes were sponsored by Program Director SIPMIU, Director, Urban Development &amp; KCCI for the first, second and third respectively. <br \/>\nEver since the inception of this cleanliness award, Kohima in general and especially the wards\/colonies have been doing a commendable job in keeping their respective areas clean and tidy. <br \/>\nKMC would continue this annual event for encouraging sense of sanitation and its importance for the wards \/colonies. <br \/>\nIt is also observed that since 2011, illumination and decoration of wards in Kohima, particularly during the festive season have significantly improved which adds festive mood to all residence and outsiders.<br \/>\nThe programme was chaired by KMC chief executive officer Elizabeth Ngully. She lauded all the wards for maintaining cleanliness in their respective wards\/colonies and for their active participation in all KMC activities towards keeping the city clean.<br \/>\nCEO also said this annual award be an encouragement for all wards, keeping in mind that \u201cwe all work towards a common goal i.e. keeping our surrounding &amp; city clean\u201d. She also thanked the state government &amp; the DPDB Kohima for providing 19 pick-ups (Tata mobile) for all the 19 wards under KMC jurisdiction. With the receipt of these vehicles, KMC CEO expressed hoped that \u201cwe\u2019ll have a cleaner Kohima through a concerted effort as per the theme that KMC has put for the year 2014 \u2018Toward Zero Waste\u2019.\u201d<br \/>\nThe invocation and Christmas greetings were pronounced by Thekrulezo Nagi, Office Manager NBCC. <br \/>\nEarlier, a special number was presented by Vireizeu Solo followed by distribution of prizes by the chief guest to the winning wards. The first prize was bagged by Ward No.16,which comprises of New Ministers\u2019 Hill,&nbsp; Lirie, New Reserve &amp; Lirie Chazou, second prize to Ward No.17 comprising of Agri-Forest &amp; Electrical&nbsp; and the third prize to&nbsp; PWD Ward No.11.
