Angami Catholic Union (ACU) on Tuesday said it would revive the lost Catholic tradition practiced in earlier times during the silver jubilee celebration at Kohima local ground under the theme \u201cLaunch out deeper\u201d (Luke 5:4) from January 18 -20.<\/p>\n
Informing this during a press conference, Rocus R. Chasie, adviser ACU said that during the celebration, the 5 regional presidents would light the jubilee lamp from 5 different entrances accompanied by flag bearers and 25 members representing the silver jubilee commemoration would blow the \u201cbuffalo horn\u201d followed by traditional blessing and declaring the celebration open by the founders.<\/p>\n
He also said the celebration will be marked by special significance such as forgiving the offences, reconciliation and thanksgiving to God besides Eucharistic procession and Rosary.<\/p>\n
Rev. Fr. Charles D\u2019 Souza SJ, Most Rev. Dr. James Thoppil Bishop of Kohima and Rev. Fr. Neisalhou Carolus Vicar general Kohima Diocese will speak on topics like \u2018Jubilee and reconciliation, \u2018Launch out deeper\u2019 and \u2018Being a catholic Christian in the 3rd millennium\u2019 respectively.<\/p>\n
It may be mentioned that Er. Marcellinus Molz (SDS) was the first Catholic missionary to visit the Nagas in 1908. <\/p>\n
Kevipele was the first person to take baptism among the Angami Catholics on December 14, 1952 at Naga hospital chapel. <\/p>\n
At present, there are 7 Angami priests\u2019 and 24 nuns with 11 Parishes (administrative divisions of the diocese).<\/p>\n
Christ King Parish Kohima village was the first Parish among the Angami Catholics set up in the year 1965.<\/p>\n
