Expressing shock over the issuing of land patta to one Chibeni Lotha in 2007 by Dimapur district administration violating all norms, Naga Council, Dimapur (NCD) has said that allotting public land and space in the heart of the commercial town (below new flyover near Manipuri Hotel) \u201cunder clear vested interest\u201d was disheartening.<\/p>\n
In a press release, NCD alleged that under the garb of legal sanction in the form of patta, vested persons have now encroached upon public land in the form of construction activity. <\/p>\n
It maintained that such act was encroachment on public property, misuse of government machinery for personal gain, legally wrong and unethical, obstructing public movement in market place and rendered obsolete the property and commercial value of the old building in front of which the new building was coming up. <\/p>\n
NCD asserted it cannot remain a mute spectator to such injustices being committed by guardians of the law. <\/p>\n
Interestingly, NCD said even the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) had given its clearance for construction to take place, \u201cwhich shows that there is a vast network of conspirators working to siphon off public property.\u201d<\/p>\n
Asserting that this should be investigated at the earliest, NCD requested the present district administration to cancel the patta immediately in the interest of public order.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
