Molungyimsen Students\u2019 Union (Molungyimsen Kaketshir Telungjem- MKT) celebrated its platinum jubilee on December 27 and 28 on the theme \u2018Melenshidaks\u00fcba Lanur (Youth for change)\u2019 at Molungyimsen Baptist Church building with L Temjen Jamir, MLA & Advisor NBDA, Nagaland and Alemtemshi Jamir, designate chief secretary government of Nagaland as chief guests on the first and second day respectively. <\/p>\n
Speaking on the occasion, chief guest, L. Temjen Jamir stated that Molungyimsen being the first Christian village (Khristan yimkum) and the cradle of education said the village is so important in Nagaland. <\/p>\n
We need to honor the pioneers who received Christianity and education, he opined.
\nUrging the students, he said that they should understand the saying, \u2018Many are called but few are chosen\u2019 and basing on that, we should endeavor to be at the top; only then they would become a good citizen.<\/p>\n
Alemtemshi Jamir while speaking during the morning session on December 28 stated that Molungyimsen is a sentimental location for all Nagas. <\/p>\n
While encouraging the gathering, he said that to celebrate jubilee was God\u2019s law.
\nHowever, it should not just be a mere celebration but a time to gather with the objective to reform and bring changes for the society.<\/p>\n
He opined that the world was \u2018flat\u2019 which meant that everybody was leveled and as one was now in a competitive world, only the best would survive. <\/p>\n
He therefore encouraged the gathering particularly the students whether they were determined to be the best; otherwise they would be losers. <\/p>\n
Jamir also encouraged villagers to think globally and act locally and stated that actual globalization for the Nagas started right here at Molungyimsen. <\/p>\n
However, he cautioned that \u2018God helps only those who help themselves\u2019.Different distinguished speakers included Rev.
\nDr. Mar Atsongchanger, Executive Secretary, ABAM, Impur who spoke on the topic \u2018Students can change the world (Shisashiri alima melenshitsur)\u2019 and Prof. Alemla Longkumer, SASRD, NU, Medziphema spoke on the topic \u2018Youth for Change (Melenshidaktsuba lanur).\u2019 <\/p>\n
Among those who spoke included Murohu Chotso, DC Mokokchung; Tongpang Ozukum AGS, NSF; N.Akok Longkumer President AKM and Along Tzudir president CKM. <\/p>\n
Two pioneers the first president of Molungyimsen Kaketshir Telungjem, K. Imtinukshi Sanglir and the first general secretary Molungyimsen Kaketshir Telungjem, T. Molungnenba Longkumer also attended the programme.<\/p>\n
Earlier, the jubilee celebration was opened with a heart touching slide show describing a brief history of Molungyimsen Kaketshir Telungjem. <\/p>\n
The jubilee celebration was closed by Molungyimsen Kaketshir Telungjem, Mokokchung followed by entertainment (musical extravaganza) at mission compound. <\/p>\n
The jubilee planning committee was headed by P. Imkonglemba Jamir as convenor and held under the guidance and tenure of Mopungsanger putu (village council).<\/p>\n
It may be recalled that Molungyimsen under Changkikong range, Mokokchung district has been declared by the government of Nagaland as \u2018Naga educational heritage village\u2019 in 2011 and also officially approved as \u2018Christian pilgrimage village\u2019 by Nagaland Legislative Assembly in 2012.<\/p>\n
Mention may be made here that Ao Students\u2019 Conference (AKM) had named Molungyimsen as the \u2018Cradle of Education\u2019 in 2003 which was later affirmed by the Naga Students\u2019 Federation (NSF).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
