ENSF further informed that the proposed phase III agitation was suspended as per the state government\u2019s request to hold a \u201cnegotiation meeting\u201d on November 14, 11 a.m. at ENSF conference hall Tuensang. <\/p>\n<p>With regard to the four point demand to the home department, ENSF general secretary Honang M. Jessuhu said if the department fails to respond to their demands, ENSF would intensify its agitation.<\/p>\n<p>Jessuhu also said the state government in good faith should sincerely put into action the relaxation policy for the 6 backward tribes where the federation demands falls within the purview of that policy. <\/p>\n<p>He said the \u201cdelay tactics played by the government is totally unwelcoming.\u201d He also cautioned that \u201cif the demands are fulfilled then the law of the land shall take it own course of action\u201d, adding, the people want justice.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Mon: <\/span>All government offices in Mon were closed down by students\u2019 organizations, Wednesday on the second day of ENSF\u2019s phase II agitation. <\/p>\n<p>Movement of government vehicles was also restricted. Around 20 government vehicles were seized and kept at the office of the Konyak Students\u2019 Union (KSU) untill 6 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>KSU president, Loungai Wangnao Konyak said \u201cif the state government fail to comply with the demands of ENSF within stipulated time, the students\u2019 organization would launch the Phase III agitation\u201d. <\/p>\n<p>The nature of the next agitation would be shutting down of all business establishments on November 18 followed by total bandh on 19 and 20 November respectively, he added.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Longleng: <\/span>In Longleng, ENSF phase II agitation passed off peacefully, spearheaded by the Phom Students` Conference (PSC). <\/p>\n<p>Movement of government vehicles was restricted in the district headquarter and all sub-divisions. Talking to this Correspondent, PSC general secretary Yongkai Keikung said three government vehicles were seized for violating the ENSF directive.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Keikung Expressed gratitude to the state government for agreeing to replace the district sports officer (DSO). <\/p>\n<p>He urged the government to immediately issue an order to allow the new DSO to join in the posting place within a week. <\/p>\n<p>Keikung informed that the PSC would temporarily suspend the proposed agitation on the issue of Longleng Lardigarh NEC road as per the government\u2019s assurance to construct the road, increase of fund from Rs. 51 crores to Rs. 79 crores after submitting the revised estimate to the NEC. <\/p>\n<p>However, it said if the government fails to resume work at the earliest, PSC would begin its agitation.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold; color: #ff0000;\">ENSUD backs ENSF<\/span><br \/>\nExtending its support to the ongoing ENSF agitation against government\u2019s \u201cnonchalant attitude\u201d, the Eastern Nagaland Students\u2019 Union Delhi (ENSUD) Wednesday urges the state government to promptly act on the demands made by ENSF.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cENSUD believes that these are pressing issues, which need to be addressed by the state government against the deplorable educational facilities and inadequate employment opportunities faced by people of Eastern Nagaland,\u201d stated a press release issued by ENSUD. <\/p>\n<p>It stated that not empty words but implementation of decisions taken and agreements undertaken was what the state government should expedite. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With the phase II Eastern Naga Students Federation (ENSF) agitation that ended Wednesday, the federation has informed that it would temporarily suspend the phase III agitation.
