The resource person elaborated on the importance of new born care and oriented the participants on importance of breastfeeding within one hour of delivery, including feeding of colostrums, danger signs and early care of the newborn, importance and schedules of Immunization and diarrhea management. <\/p>\n<p>The participants were also highlighted about Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakram (JSSK) entitlements for the newborns upto 30 days after birth.<\/p>\n<p>The orientation programme was chaired by Dr.B.Yanger Ao and was attended by SMOs, MOs, district IEC personnel and ASHA Co-ordinator. <\/p>\n<p>The participants would further briefed by Dr. Tiala Longkumer, Dy.CMO to conduct focus group discussion with the lactating\/pregnant and eligible mothers in 6 villages covering 3 blocks on essential newborn care.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>District Health Society, Peren conducted a one-day child health review cum orientation on essential new born care on&nbsp; November 21 at the chief medical officer\u2019s conference hall in commemoration of \u2018Newborn Care Week\u2019 (Nov 15 to 21) on the theme \u201cImproving neo-natal health\u201d.
