Dr. Ashwani Kumar was speaking at the graduation ceremony of St. Joseph\u2019s College (SJC), Jakhama.
\nAccording to a DIPR report, on the occasion, the governor congratulated the graduate students and said that they have completed the first milestone to start a new chapter in life and call upon the students to plan for their future. <\/p>\n
He also reminded that there was no substitute to hard work and no short cut to success. While complimenting the graduate students and wishing them good health, prosperity and bright future, the governor also thanked the college principal and the management for inviting him to grace the graduation day.<\/p>\n
The Governor also gave away the prizes which included cash prize and a citation to the five best students: Governor Gold Medal for best graduate went to Tolivi Sumi, BA Economic Honours; Avika Memorial Awards to best B.Com to Imkum B. Com. <\/p>\n
Honours; Chikrophuyo Memorial Awards to best BA student – Lulumei BA Sociology Honour; Alumni Association Awards to best degree students – Khongalu Dukhru and Youth Net Award to best BBA student – L. Mathia.<\/p>\n
Parliamentary secretary for housing, treasuries & accounts, Vikho Yhoshu, government officials, DBs and others attended the programme. <\/p>\n
HoD commerce department Timothy exhorted the students while principal SJC Jakhama Fr. Abraham Lotha presented the annual report. <\/p>\n
Other highlights of the programme included conferring of awards; welcome song by the college shoir; folk dance by Khamniungan students, SJC, Jakhama; dance; presentation of musical piece and songs. <\/p>\n
