{"id":172254,"date":"2013-11-02T01:02:28","date_gmt":"2013-11-02T01:02:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2013\/11\/02\/kipil-assures-geean-anudeea-stir-suspended\/"},"modified":"2013-11-02T01:02:28","modified_gmt":"2013-11-02T01:02:28","slug":"kipil-assures-geean-anudeea-stir-suspended","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2013\/11\/02\/kipil-assures-geean-anudeea-stir-suspended\/","title":{"rendered":"Kipil assures GEEAN, ANUDEEA; stir suspended"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/>Graduate Electrical Engineers Association of Nagaland (GEEAN) and All Nagaland Unemployed Diploma Electrical Engineers Association (ANUDEEA) have suspended their agitation demanding advertisement of all the vacant posts of junior engineers and conduct of recruitment examination through NPSC.<\/p>\n<p>The suspension followed an assurance from the parliamentary secretary for power Kipili Sangtam that advertisement would be published strictly based on the engineering service rule.<\/p>\n<p>GEEAN and ANUDEEA members Friday staged an agitation at the office of the chief engineer (power), Kohima to press for their demand. <\/p>\n<p>They demanded that there should be no promotion from lower grade to Junior Engineer (JE) until and unless the required ratio of 90:10 has been maintained as per the engineering service rule. <\/p>\n<p>According to the two associations, they received a letter from Kipili Sangtam stating that the issue has been discussed with chief secretary and chief engineer power. <\/p>\n<p>The parliamentary has reportedly assured that the advertisement would be put up based on the engineering service rule. <\/p>\n<p>It was learnt that the two associations have returned the letter to the parliamentary secretary stating that his response was not satisfactory. <\/p>\n<p>The two associations have decided to find out work progress at the office of the chief engineer (power) on November 11. <\/p>\n<p>The associations were also informed that owing to the 2011 court case which was still going on, the department could not go ahead with the advertisement.<\/p>\n<p>The associations had earlier stated that there was no advertisement for the post of JEs since the last five years while an RTI report stated that there were many vacant posts.<\/p>\n<p>According to the engineering service rule, out of the total 141 sanctioned posts of JE, 127 posts were to be filled through direct recruitment and only 14 posts to be filed through promotion from lower grade to JE, ie. 90:10 (direct promotion). The existing ratio in the department was 83 promotions and only 49 direct recruitments.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the two associations had tendered an apology to All Nagaland College Students\u2019 Union (ANCSU) for the miscommunication pertaining to the agitation held on October 31.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold; color: #ff0000;\">ANCSU dismayed <\/span><br \/>\nAll Nagaland College Students\u2019 Union (ANCSU) has expressed displeasure over the statement issued by GEEAN and ANUDEEA on the agitation against power department for the non-fulfillment of the associations\u2019 demands. <\/p>\n<p>ANCSU president Tsukjem Lkr and general secretary Katho P Awomi in a statement said ANCSU would not compromise with any issues for the wellbeing of the students. <\/p>\n<p>According to ANCSU, GEEAN and ANUDEEA had not properly discussed the issue with the union and said it would not take part in the agitation for time being. <\/p>\n<p>ANCSU however said the union would intervene as in when needed.
