{"id":172307,"date":"2013-11-01T23:27:27","date_gmt":"2013-11-01T23:27:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2013\/11\/01\/seminar-on-legal-literacy-awareness-in-zbto\/"},"modified":"2013-11-01T23:27:27","modified_gmt":"2013-11-01T23:27:27","slug":"seminar-on-legal-literacy-awareness-in-zbto","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2013\/11\/01\/seminar-on-legal-literacy-awareness-in-zbto\/","title":{"rendered":"Seminar on legal literacy &#038; awareness in Zbto"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/HWROOOEUCADMIXNRWJRG.jpg>Seminar on \u201cLegal literacy and awareness\u201d with the elders, DBs, youths, students and women was held at the Library Hall, Judicial Court Building here under the aegis of district legal services authority (DLSA) Zunheboto October 31.<\/p>\n<p>Highlighting the topic \u201cequality before the law\u201d, additional district &amp; sessions judge (ADSJ) and DLSA Zunheboto secretary Neiko Kanou stressed on the \u2018order for maintenance of wives, children and parents\u2019 under section 125 of Code of criminal procedure 1973, the \u2018special marriage act 1954\u2019 and briefed the importance \u201dLegal Marriage Certificate\u201d. <\/p>\n<p>He also deliberated on the \u2018Motor Vehicle Act\u2019 1988, \u2018Right to Information Act\u2019 2005, and \u2018Consumers Protection Act\u2019 1986.<\/p>\n<p>Advocate Katovi Awomi, who was the other resource person at the seminar, lauded the DLSA Zunheboto for organising the programme. <\/p>\n<p>He spoke on the Constitutional rights of women, highlighting the \u2018Protection of women from Domestic Violence Act 2005\u2019, \u2018Indecent Representation of Women Prohibation Act 1986\u2019, Immoral Traffic Prevention Act 1956\u2019, Special Marriage Act 1954\u2019 and the \u2018Family Courts Act 1984\u2019. <\/p>\n<p>Awomi also deliberated on the \u201cduties\u201d of police officers, protection officer, magistrate, shelter homes and the government respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Another resource person advocate Anne Sumi delivered a note on \u201cgender equality\u201d.
