State government has approved enhancement of ex-gratia payment rate for government officials and civilians next to the kin of police personnel, civilian killed in terrorist related incidents under Security Related Expenditure Scheme (SRE) of Ministry of Home Affairs and to government officials, police officers, civilians killed in non-terrorist related incidents.<\/p>\n
The enhancement was approved during the cabinet meeting held on October 9 at the residential office of the chief minister Kohima.

\nThe rates mentioned in the cabinet memorandum for the state personnel killed in terrorist related incidents are Rs. 2 lakh, Rs. 1 lakh for civilian killed in terrorist related incidents, government officials, police personnel and men killed on bonafide government duties Rs. 1 lakh, members of public killed due to uncalled for action on the part of the government duty officers Rs. 50,000 and an amount of Rs. 10,000 to civilians killed due to natural calamities.<\/p>\n

\nThe cabinet also approved the proposal for enhancement of rate of financial assistance for state disability pension (Blind and Disabled Scholarship) from Rs. 200 per month to Rs. 300 per month under state plan.<\/p>\n
\nProposal for amendment to the schedules of the Nagaland VAT Act, 2005 where Nagaland VAT which was to be reduced from 13.25% to 5 % on \u2018spare parts of motor vehicles\u2019 has been approved to make Nagaland rate more competitive. <\/p>\n
