Sumi Council, Dimapur (SCD), has lauded the austerity measure initiated by the state home minister, G. Kaito.<\/p>\n
SCD, chairman, Kuhoi Zhimo, in a release stated the though the initial move to prune unnecessary security cover was \u201cnot taken kindly by a small section of our elected legislatures\u201d, it was time to \u201crealize that it does not enhance the status of an individual to leave a post of security men at the cost of the already dry state coffers\u201d.<\/p>\n
SCD further said that it has been a long felt need to restrict security guards from overcrowding the chambers of \u201cbig shots\u201d occupying important chairs in the state secretariat and that it was just a matter of \u201cwho would bell the cat and Kaito Aye deserves all accolades for the good job undertaken\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt least people in need from far flung places can meet the leaders and officers with enough breathing space which they are generally used to\u201d, added SCD. With regard to the issue of bodyguards and security men, SCD said all should know that with the cease fire on, and the law and order situation \u201creasonably peaceful\u201d, large number of security was not needed as the state was going through \u201csevere financial crisis\u201d.<\/p>\n
