{"id":173082,"date":"2016-05-28T00:39:43","date_gmt":"2016-05-28T00:39:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2016\/05\/28\/govt-to-revisit-paying-salary-in-cash-to-teachers-yitachu\/"},"modified":"2016-05-28T00:39:43","modified_gmt":"2016-05-28T00:39:43","slug":"govt-to-revisit-paying-salary-in-cash-to-teachers-yitachu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2016\/05\/28\/govt-to-revisit-paying-salary-in-cash-to-teachers-yitachu\/","title":{"rendered":"Govt to revisit paying salary in cash to teachers: Yitachu"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/USSJUHUMEIASPEYVDTQL.jpg><\/p>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Minister for school education and SCERT said the state government in principal has taken a decision to revisit paying cash salary to teachers in posting areas instead of crediting to their respective accounts, an apparent move to curb government teachers drawing salary without attending work.<\/span><\/div>\n<div>Speaking as chief guest at the \u201cHSLC and HSSLC 2016 Result Analysis for 41 GHSS cum One Day Seminar\u201d here on Friday, Yitachu, said that government wanted to favour government employees by depositing salary into their respective accounts, but lamented that the good intention and policy was being misused.<\/div>\n<div>The event held on the theme \u201cManaging Government Higher Secondary Schools for Holistic Improvement\u201d was organized by Nagaland Government Higher Secondary School Employees Association (NGHSSEA).<\/div>\n<div>Yitachu, while pointing out that state government spend 24% of total budget on department of school education alone, lamented that HSLC and HSSLC results did not match government spending.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>The minister, therefore, urged teachers to work hard in building a prosperous society where each citizen was well educated and well informed.<\/div>\n<div>Yitachi said that even after 52 years of existence the department of education was at a transitional stage only now because suddenly there was \u201chuge explosion\u201d of opening higher secondary and primary schools and upgrading middle schools to high schools without taking proper analysis.<\/div>\n<div>The minister admitted that the intention of giving employment rather than education has \u201cdestroyed\u201d the department instead of improving education in the state.<\/div>\n<div>On the demands made by ANSTA and NSSFOF for total bifurcation of secondary\/elementary from higher secondary education, the minister said demand of bifurcation of two sections was not at an appropriate time, as it was a process to be taken at an appropriate situation or requirement.<\/div>\n<div>He said at the juncture without proper analysis, bifurcation would be against the interest of the students and against the national policy of \u201cno stand alone school\u201d (composite school). He said bifurcation policy having tested in India it was of the realisation that composite school has to be encouraged.<\/div>\n<div>Yitachu said bifurcation of Class 11 and 12 alone was not workable but if there were other formula it would be \u201cmost welcome\u201d.<\/div>\n<div>Further, he said that bifurcation would also be a wasteful expenditure as excess PGT could teach in lower classes and foster workload equation.<\/div>\n<div>On the occasion, the minister also announced that the state government would make an attempt to urge the central ministry to release four months pending salary of 1,379 Hindi teachers.<\/div>\n<div>Yitachu further emphasised on the need to create opportunity for SSA, RMSA and primary teachers &nbsp; at par with state employees, especially for those possessing masters degree.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>At the programme, the chief guest gave away citation to Moasenla of Mayangnokcha GHSS Mokokchung Top 9 position in HSSLC 2016 and released \u201cThird all India survey of educational administration\u201d.<\/div>\n<div>Citations were also given to GHSS Jotsoma for 100% passed percentage in HSSLC exam and Visezu Thakro, PGT commerce of Ruzukhrie GHSS Kohima. 30 students out of 36 students who appeared in HSSLC exam 2016 got distinction in his subject entrepreneurship.<\/div>\n<div>Department of school education, additional director, Wonthungo Tsopoe and NGHSSEA president, Kelhikha Kenye also spoke at the programme.<\/div>\n<div>In the second session, GHSS Bhandari principal, Nellayapan B, made a paper presentation on \u201ccomparative study of educational management in India\u201d, followed by discussion and adoption of three-point resolution by NGHSSEA. &nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Minister for school education and SCERT said the state government in principal has taken a decision to revisit paying cash salary to teachers in posting areas instead of crediting to their respective accounts, an apparent move to curb government teachers drawing salary without attending work.
