{"id":173313,"date":"2012-11-26T00:13:30","date_gmt":"2012-11-26T00:13:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2012\/11\/26\/social-welfare-and-women-development-refutes-npcc-allegations\/"},"modified":"2012-11-26T00:13:30","modified_gmt":"2012-11-26T00:13:30","slug":"social-welfare-and-women-development-refutes-npcc-allegations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2012\/11\/26\/social-welfare-and-women-development-refutes-npcc-allegations\/","title":{"rendered":"Social Welfare and Women Development refutes NPCC allegations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/>Social Welfare and Women Development (SW&amp;WD) department Sunday refuted the NPCC allegation of a major scam where three allegedly bogus societies siphoned off money to the tune of over Rs. 136 crore during the past four financial years through forgery, cheating and fraudulent withdrawals.<\/p>\n<p>In a rejoinder, PS to parliamentary secretary, SW&amp;WD Thepusayi Nienu clarified that Supplementary Nutrition Programme (SNP) was an integral component of Integrated <\/p>\n<p>Child Development Services (ICDS) for maternal and child malnutrition. He said Nagaland also availed yearly budgetary allocations and the supply of which was awarded to societies. <\/p>\n<p>He said it was evident nutritious food were provided to children in all the Anganwadi centres and that the allegation of societies siphoning off funds was \u201ctotally false and unfounded\u201d. He also clarified that any society deemed fit was eligible to assist the government in procuring materials for reaching to the targeted group. <\/p>\n<p>Neinu further termed the NPCC statement as indicative of \u201ccharacter assassination\u201d of Chotisuh Sazo who held the post of parliamentary secretary SW&amp;WD. He also demanded that NPCC prove that the letter \u2018C\u2019 in CK Enterprises stood for Chotisu . <\/p>\n<p>Neinu further asserted that the NPCC claim that Kudechoyi was the PS to parliamentary secretary SW&amp;WD was incorrect.<\/p>\n<p>He pointed out that award of 690 Anganwadi shed constructions to CK Enterprises as alleged by the Congress was false. He and accused NPCC of not being in \u201csync with day to day happenings\u201d. <\/p>\n<p>Neinu also said that tender for construction of Anganwadi sheds was floated in all the leading dailies of the state for Mon, Tuensang, Kiphiri and Longleng districts. <\/p>\n<p>It was only after tender that construction of sheds were awarded to competent and eligible contractors by the chief engineer, housing department. <\/p>\n<p>He said constructive criticisms were welcome but not in the manner in which the Congress has \u201churled unwanted accusations\u201d to the parliamentary secretary, SW&amp;WD. <\/p>\n<p>It may be mentioned that NPCC at a press conference Friday in Kohima, revealed that the facts were obtained through RTI filed by its senior member Sentichuba MLA and demanded that the State Vigilance Commission unearth the facts and bring the culprits to book. <\/p>\n<p>According to NPCC, three allegedly bogus societies Khoyo Tribal Women Welfare Society (KTWWS), Midland Kohima, allegedly run by Nikedu-u (Adule) the wife of Chotisu Sazo, parliamentary secretary Social Welfare; M\/s C.K.
