Worse, the failure part is not a mere term where the medicines did not work. Rather the failure part involves the dangerous side effects of the wonder medicines which had led to innumerable cases of lawsuits against the pharmaceutical companies. Nowhere is this issue- cure becoming worse than the disease- more evident in the current raging debate about vaccinations. Vaccination is an extremely controversial topic these days. Whatever side of the aisle one may fall under, it is on the issue of the right to accept or refuse and the side effects of the vaccines. There are two schools of conflicting thoughts over the issue of vaccinations. One believes in the claims of the medical world about the efficacy and requirement of vaccines as means of preventing diseases. Generally, parents are asked to vaccinate their children before the age of two years to protect children against 14 infectious diseases such as – measles, mumps, rubella (German measles), varicella (chickenpox), hepatitis A, hepatitis B, diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), Haemophilus influenza type B (Hib), polio, influenza (flu), rotavirus, and pneumococcal disease. Children are given vaccinations at a young age because this is when they are at highest risk of getting sick or dying if they get these diseases. Newborn babies are immune to some diseases because they have antibodies they get from their mothers, usually before they are born. However, this immunity lasts a few months. The vaccines contain weakened or killed versions of the germs that cause a disease. These elements of vaccines, and other molecules and micro-organisms that stimulate the immune system, are called “antigens.” Babies are exposed to thousands of germs and other antigens in the environment from the time they are born. When a baby is born, his or her immune system is ready to respond to the many antigens in the environment and the selected antigens in vaccines. Before a vaccine is ever approved and licensed, it goes through years of testing for safety and effectiveness. On the other side of the spectrum are those who disbelieve the efficacy of vaccinations. Of course, no vaccine or medicine is perfect. Skeptics also point to the case of Merck, the manufacturer of the MMR vaccine which was embroiled in two lawsuits for falsifying data on the effectiveness of the mumps vaccine. One of these lawsuits was brought by two of its own scientists. This is just another example of the lying and fraud perpetuated by the drug companies with regard to vaccination. What’s more, recent vaccine testing results published in January 2017 revealed that all MMR vaccines are contaminated with heavy metals not declared on the ingredients list or in the product leaflets. There are bound to be cases like that but it does not eradicate the facts that millions of children are safe today from various life threatening diseases due to prevention through vaccination. Since adulteration exists even in food items, it does not mean all food should be banned. There are some counterfeit currency but it does not mean all currency should be banned. The issue needs to be properly analyzed lest it leads to throwing the baby with the bathwater.

[685

post-177776","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","category-editorial
["GET
