The Red Ribbon Super Star Campaign; \u201cNSACS ZERO\u201d got off to an impressive start on Tuesday at council hall, Mon with more than 700 people, both young and old, filling up the hall, to take part in the much awaited NSACS Zero \u2013 Music campaign.<\/p>\n
ADC Mon, Kuko Mero, who was present, thanked NSACS for organising such an event and extended his solidarity to the campaign against HIV & AIDS. <\/p>\n
Konyak Union, president, Manlip Konyak also attended the programme. Brand ambassador for the campaign \u201cClueless Attention\u201d then took to the stage and mesmerized the crowd with common music hits including their original \u201cI Believe\u201d. A total of 6 bands competed to book a place for the inter-district finals, which will be held in Dimapur on October 28. <\/p>\n
In the end, the band RASP emerged as the winner of the Mon edition, while Anxiety Disorder and Last Propaganda came second and third respectively.<\/p>\n
Chinglong of Users Network Mon shared his testimony. The highlight of the event was special band performance comprising of members from the Users Network, Mon who won everyone\u2019s heart with their heart-warming rendition of old songs; \u201cAlways Somewhere\u201d and others.<\/p>\n
Earlier in the morning, NSACS Zero crew visited Wangkhao Government College. Over 200 students gathered to learn about the campaign and also to witness performance by \u201cClueless Attention\u201d. <\/p>\n
The principal of the college Dr. Imli Wati Imchen in his short speech, expressed his appreciation to the organisers for their efforts in creating awareness of HIV & AIDS through such programmes. <\/p>\n
He said such efforts must be lauded by one and all, and requested NSACS to continue this trend of reaching out to the masses through well-planned music events, which have mass appeal. <\/p>\n
Deputy director, NSACS, Ayieno Kechu gave a brief introduction on the goals of the Zero campaign, which are, to achieve zero death, zero discrimination and zero infection from HIV & AIDS by 2015 \u2013 a vision of UNAIDS. <\/p>\n
She encouraged the students to get tested and know their status and also encourage others to do the same, because when it comes to HIV & AIDS \u201cIgnorance is not bliss but risk.\u201d After the program 27 students came forward for HIV testing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
