The 46-year-old singer made headlines after addressing Cyrus in an open letter, prompted by the former Disney star\u2019s admission that her Wrecking Ball music video was inspired by Sinead\u2019s Nothing Compare 2 U. <\/p>\n
While Sinead\u2019s letter was harshly honest, it was also complimentary to her music, as she advised: \u2018You have enough talent that you don\u2019t need to let the music business make a prostitute of you.\u2019<\/p>\n
The letter led to a public dispute with the 20-year-old, who controversially referenced Sinead\u2019s public mental breakdown in 2012 by comparing her to troubled actress Amanda Bynes \u2013 currently seeking help for mental health issues.<\/p>\n
Despite the controversy, the outspoken singer played down her tiff with Miley during an appearance on The Late Late Show in her native Ireland. <\/p>\n
Speaking to host Ryan Tubridy she said: \u2018As far as I\u2019m concerned it\u2019s over, it\u2019s not something I really want to talk about\u2019.<\/p>\n
\u2018I don\u2019t feel sorry for me or for anybody else in the matter, that\u2019s not what it\u2019s about. The broader issue, I feel sorry for the murder of music\u2019.<\/p>\n
\u2018I feel sorry for the murder of rock \u2018n\u2019 roll which has happened because of the industry. Because of Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and the lot of them (talent show judges) have murdered music.\u2019 She added: <\/p>\n
