An awareness camp on Dengue fever with free tests and distribution of basic medicine was conducted for Medziphema Block on September 14, at CHC Medziphema. <\/p>\n
The program was organised by NDPP Women Wing, 5 Ghaspani-II A\/C. It was conducted for at least a hundred patients, and the funds were raised through goodwill contributions from members and well-wishers while doctors and nurses of CHC Medziphema administered the necessary check-ups and tests.<\/p>\n
A press release from NDPP 5 Ghaspani-II A\/C media secretary, Thejangukho Yalietsu, stated that a formal program was held on awareness of dengue which was attended by leaders from around 23 villages under Medziphema division. <\/p>\n
Speaking at the function, Zhaleo Rio, deputy speaker, NLA, stated “Prevention is better than cure” adding that this adage should be put into practice in order to arrest the spread of diseases, such as the dengue fever. <\/p>\n
Rio who is the MLA of the constituency, also noted that concerned health centres should be well-equipped in order to address such issues which can otherwise cause severe fatalities. <\/p>\n
He urged everyone to help clean up surroundings and free them from stagnant water.<\/p>\n
Dr. N. Sezo, SMO, CHC Medziphema, also showed a slideshow presentation on the fever, its cause, precautions and prevention techniques.<\/p>\n
President, NDPP Women Wing, 5 Ghaspani-II A\/C, Megozomeü Khate, who also spoke on behalf of the organisers, acknowledged all well-wishers. She reported that apart from procurement of medical kits and medicine from the free-will contributions, they were able to donate Rs. 500 each to all eleven patients undergoing treatment at the health centre. The surplus amount of Ts. 8740 was handed over to the CMO Medziphema, for the Poor Patients’ Fund. <\/p>\n
Zhaleo also visited all sections of the health centre, interacted with doctors and nurses besides assessing the infrastructure available at the centre. He later inspected the ongoing construction of City Centre complex, Medziphema Town, as well as the newly constructed office of the ADC, Medziphema division. <\/p>\n
The program was chaired by Miathou Krose, chairman, Health Centre Management Committee, CHC Medziphema, while Keviuchülie, pastor, TBCM, said the invocation.<\/p>\n
