{"id":180902,"date":"2018-09-16T12:49:06","date_gmt":"2018-09-16T12:49:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2018\/09\/16\/main-accused-in-cop-slaying-nabbed-2\/"},"modified":"2018-09-16T12:49:06","modified_gmt":"2018-09-16T12:49:06","slug":"main-accused-in-cop-slaying-nabbed-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2018\/09\/16\/main-accused-in-cop-slaying-nabbed-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Main accused in cop slaying nabbed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/2018_9$large_5533.jpg><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;In a major breakthrough, GRP and RPF (Government Railway Police and Railway Protection Force) along with Assam Police apprehended Yuireingam Ronra Shimray (24), son of Starson Shimray of Kharasom Lazo village (Ukhrul, Manipur), the main accused in the murder of ABSI of 5th NAP, late Neiphretuo Metsie-o at Guwahati Railway Station around 7 p.m. Sunday.<br \/>\nThe arrest came after inputs were passed on to Chief Security Officer, RPF Guwahati B.B. Mishra by DGP Nagaland TJ John Longkumer. After the tip-off, Mishra stationed a team at the railway station and also cordoned off the railway station perimeter to nab the accused. According to OC GRP Guwahati, Yuireingam had reportedly boarded the Dibrugarh-Rangia Express at Dimapur railway station Sunday at around 12:10 noon and reached Guwahati at around 6.30 p.m.<br \/>\nJust as the train slowed down before Guwahati railway station, the accused, on seeing RPF and Police team heading towards him, jumped off the train. He then attempted to enter a building, but as the place was already encircled, he could not escape and was eventually overpowered and taken into custody.<br \/>\nThe capture of the main accused came on the ninth day after the murdered policeman went missing. The decomposed dead body of the victim was found on September 15.&nbsp; Yuireingam and his female accomplice- Ringthingchon- are the main accused in the murder of ABI Neiphretuo and theft of the Scorpio after the victim went missing on September 7, enroute to Pfutsero from Kohima. <br \/>\nAccording to police sources, Yuireingam is a history sheeter and involved in several crimes in Dimapur. Yuireingam will be produced before the court on Monday, OC GRP said. Accordingly, Nagaland police will seek for his transit remand, police said.<br \/>\nWhen contacted, DGP Nagaland, T.J. Longkumer confirmed the arrest of Yuireingam at Guwahati railway station. With the arrest of Yuireingam in Guwahati and his female accomplice, Ringthingchon, yesterday in Ukhrul, both suspects are now in police custody and will be brought to Nagaland. <br \/>\nPolice sources also informed that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) had left for Ukhrul to bring the female accused&#8211; Ringthingchon- to Kohima who was under custody of Women Police Station, Ukhrul.<br \/>\nMeanwhile, Lower Phaibung Village Authority (LPVA), Senapati, in a condemnation note revealed that the suspected murderer stopped at their village en-route to Ukhrul district on the night of September 7 in a white Mahindra Scorpio due to a punctured tyre and for re-fueling at a BIPL work camp.<br \/>\nThe note from LPVA chairman S.P Jonah and secretary P.
