The timely intervention of fire-fighters and SDRF (Home Guards &amp; Civil Defence) personnel assisted by the public brought the fire under control.<br \/>\nAs the fire personnel were at Arkong ward, another major fire broke out, above the Eastern Talkies, Sangtemla Ward. Four houses were gutted in the inferno. <br \/>\nFire brigade personnel, assisted by SDRF, police and public doused the fire. District administration officials also rushed to the spot.<br \/>\nThe timely intervention stopped the fire from spreading to nearby government quarters and buildings.<br \/>\nTill the filling of this report, immediate details could not be ascertained, as the disaster management control was still in progress.
