{"id":181074,"date":"2018-09-25T13:00:48","date_gmt":"2018-09-25T13:00:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2018\/09\/25\/awareness-programme-on-forest-and-wild-life-conservation\/"},"modified":"2018-09-25T13:00:48","modified_gmt":"2018-09-25T13:00:48","slug":"awareness-programme-on-forest-and-wild-life-conservation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2018\/09\/25\/awareness-programme-on-forest-and-wild-life-conservation\/","title":{"rendered":"Awareness programme on forest and wild life conservation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/http:\/\/new.nagalandpost.com\/cms\/gall_content\/no_images_650x.jpg><\/p>\n<p>With an aim to raise responsiveness on conservation of forests and livelihood security, an awareness program was organized by Kohima forest division under the livelihood programme on September 22.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A press release from Kohima DFO stated the livelihood programme is entirely an initiative of Kohima forest division wherein women groups, SHG&rsquo;s &amp; youth groups are targeted to strengthen their capacity and also provides financial incentives and assets to supplement their activities for securing their livelihoods.<\/p>\n<p>During the programme, Rongsenlemla Imchen, DFO Kohima, highlighted the importance of the SHG&rsquo;s role in forest &amp; wild life protection in relation to livelihood security. She thanked the SHGs for their active role in natural resource management and she also laid stress on the significance of their activities on income generation being sustainable. Ranger, Pezaneinuo also spoke about the importance of SHGs and sustainable management of forests through their activities.<\/p>\n<p>The SHG members thanked the department for the initiatives and promised their cooperation to the department for environmental protection. As a part of the initiative, plastic chairs and solar lamps were distributed to SHGs under Kohima (Kigwema) and Tseminyu (Sendenyu) to strengthen their capacities.
