{"id":181407,"date":"2018-10-08T11:43:14","date_gmt":"2018-10-08T11:43:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2018\/10\/08\/ncsu-urges-pwd-to-spilt-work-orders-for-road-construction\/"},"modified":"2018-10-08T11:43:14","modified_gmt":"2018-10-08T11:43:14","slug":"ncsu-urges-pwd-to-spilt-work-orders-for-road-construction","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2018\/10\/08\/ncsu-urges-pwd-to-spilt-work-orders-for-road-construction\/","title":{"rendered":"NCSU urges PWD to spilt work orders for road construction"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/http:\/\/new.nagalandpost.com\/cms\/gall_content\/no_images_650x.jpg><\/p>\n<p>Nagaland Contractors&rsquo; &amp; Suppliers&rsquo; Union (NCSU) has urged PWD to split work orders kilometre-wise while awarding contracts for road construction by reviewing the present criteria in the notice inviting tender (NIT).<\/p>\n<div>In a representation to PWD (Road &amp; Bridges) minister, NCSU president Pele Khezhie and general secretary John Kath said that while they appreciated chief minister Neiphiu Rio&rsquo;s recent statement of floating open tenders in the coming weeks to build roads, they were concerned about the criteria laid down in NIT published in local dailies on October 2.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>They added that the criteria laid down in NIT by the department were harsh, complicated and not applicable to local Class-1 registered contractors to qualify for the works.<\/div>\n<div>NCSU pointed out that earlier PWD used to earlier split work orders kilometre-wise while awarding contracts for road construction so as to enable the local contractors to get work.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>However, the present criteria in the NIT had put hurdles and hardly one or two local contractors would qualify for the works, while rest of the registered Class-1 contractors, including those from ENPO areas, would not get any work as per the advertisements published by the department, the union pointed out.<\/div>\n<div>The union mentioned that work for four projects under SARDP Phase-1 were clubbed together into one package and allotted to M\/s Mayatas &amp; Gayatri in 2014.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Stating that despite its repeated demand before the Central and State governments to split the works job-wise and allot them to local contractors, the union regretted that its demand was not met, leading to the projects resulting in total failure with not a single road being completed till today.<\/div>\n<div>In view of these facts and circumstances, NCSU urged PWD to review the present criteria in the NIT and split the work orders road-wise at the earliest in the interest of the local contractors.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NCSU urges PWD to spilt work orders for road construction<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[679],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-181407","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","category-nagaland-news"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/181407","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=181407"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/181407\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=181407"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=181407"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=181407"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
