{"id":182081,"date":"2018-10-19T11:45:38","date_gmt":"2018-10-19T11:45:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2018\/10\/19\/tauk-warns-against-trafficking-of-children\/"},"modified":"2018-10-19T11:45:38","modified_gmt":"2018-10-19T11:45:38","slug":"tauk-warns-against-trafficking-of-children","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2018\/10\/19\/tauk-warns-against-trafficking-of-children\/","title":{"rendered":"TAUK warns against trafficking of children"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/2018_10$large_Tauk.jpg><\/p>\n<p>Taking serious note of the continual trafficking of Konyak children in Kohima, Tobu Area Union Kohima (TAUK) on Friday reaffirmed to uphold the standing resolution of the Konyak Union banning child trafficking of Konyak children and also resolved to penalize violaters with a fine of Rs. 50,000.<\/p>\n<p>The resolution was adopted during its 10th general meeting held in Kohima, hosted by advisor DUDA Bongkhao Konyak, on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Besides the cash penalty, stringent action will also be initiated against violators of the resolution which is to be enforced with immediate effect.<\/p>\n<p>TAUK further resolved to create awareness on the negative impacts of child trafficking, in collaboration with village authorities, under &ldquo;The Juvenile Justice&rdquo; (care and protection of children) Act, 2015.<\/p>\n<p>Host of the meeting, DUDA advisor, Bongkhao Konyak, in his brief address, urged the gathering to maintain the relations between people of the ENPO and the Konyak Union. He promised to render his best service at all times and also appealed to Tobu area officers serving in different capacities in the state capital to cooperate with the department and deliver their service with sincerity.<\/p>\n<p>The advisor also appealed to the members to work in the spirit of oneness and also to preserve the rich Konyak cultural and traditional heritage.<\/p>\n<p>Exhorting the gathering, former KUK president P. Longang urged the gathering to consider using the Konyak dialect more since the langusge of the Konyaks is diverse.<\/p>\n<p>Longang also advocated for regenerating Konyak culture based on Christian principles.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on behalf of the Tobu Area Sheko Khong, Angam Moba shared her thoughts on the importance of being together stating that togetherness brings strength and unity which also brings collective progress.<\/p>\n<p>She advocated for doing away with the spirit of negativism and asked that people motivate and help each other in achieving each other&rsquo;s goals.<\/p>\n<p>Angam further asked the gathering to uphold a culture of honesty and politeness stating that Konyaks has always had the good culture of respecting elders, yet the tribe lacked some politeness which sometimes may seem rude to others.<\/p>\n<p>She also encouraged the parents to teach their children the three magic &ldquo;words&rdquo; &#8212; Thank You, Please and Sorry..<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, TAUK president S. A Engo delivered the presidential address while David Moba enthralled the crowd with a special song.<\/p>\n<p>The program was chaired by cultural secretary TAUK, E.
