{"id":182092,"date":"2018-10-19T11:47:28","date_gmt":"2018-10-19T11:47:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2018\/10\/19\/farmers-trained-on-organic-farming-2\/"},"modified":"2018-10-19T11:47:28","modified_gmt":"2018-10-19T11:47:28","slug":"farmers-trained-on-organic-farming-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2018\/10\/19\/farmers-trained-on-organic-farming-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Farmers trained on organic farming"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/http:\/\/new.nagalandpost.com\/cms\/gall_content\/no_images_650x.jpg><\/p>\n<p>A one-day training program on organic farming for organic farmers of Hakhizhe cluster was conducted&nbsp; by the office of Sub Divisional Agriculture Officer (SDAO) on October 13, under mission organic value chain development for North Eastern region.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A press release from SDAO stated that the program was chaired by SDAO Niuland L Kivika Chophi where he highlighted the harmful effects of agro chemicals such as insecticides\/pesticides and weedicides on the environment, soil and human health.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>He gave various reasons why organic cultivation was prudent and wise. He also highlighted the status and scope of organic farming in Nagaland.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The objectives of mission organic value chain development for North Eastern region scheme was also explained to the organic farmers.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In the technical session, agriculture inspector Imkongyanger spoke on the principles and the processes of organic certification under various standards.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>He also highlighted the packages and practices of organic turmeric cultivation with emphasis on varietal selection, insect, pest, disease and nutrient management under organic turmeric cultivation.<\/p>\n<p>During the interactive session, many queries were raised by the farmers which were clarified by the resource person.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Later, vote of thanks was proposed by agriculture filed assistant Shekheto which was followed by distribution of folders and pamphlets to the participants.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A total of 50 registered organic farmers from Hakhizhe cluster attended the training program.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Farmers trained on organic farming<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[679],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-182092","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","category-nagaland-news"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/182092","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=182092"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/182092\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=182092"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=182092"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=182092"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
