A Social Audit Public Hearing, under MGNREGA for Peren district of Nagaland was held today at Women Conference Hall, Jalukie town.<\/p>\n
Seven villages were selected from difference blocks of Peren district such as Azailong, Tepun, Ndunglwa, Benreu, Old Peren, New Beisumpui and Jalukieram villages, and the social audit was held accordingly by BRPs and DBRs for Peren district.<\/p>\n
Imlirenla Sanglir, SRP, in here introductory speech said that without social audit, funding of MGNREGA is incomplete as it should maintain transparency and be accountable to the grassroots public. As enforced by the law, everyone has the right to know their rights and fight for development, she added.<\/p>\n
Imlirenla further said that the social audit covering the entire district started from October 9, and 91 villages have been selected from the entire state for social Audit.<\/p>\n
She also encouraged VDBs to maintain proper documentation such as Master Roll and Job card etc. Imlirenla cautioned that even though funds for the villages are utilized judiciously, if documentation is not maintained properly, misunderstandings shall arise between the department and villagers.<\/p>\n
Project Director, DRDA Peren, Azenuo Pienyu while chairing the program promised to do better for proper implementation of development schemes. She also asked the gathering to maintain transparency in their respective villages.<\/p>\n
Errors in the respective villages were declared openly, such as none maintenance of proper Master Rolls, incomplete documents, no sign boards, no complete certificate etc. and were were highlighted at the public hearing by the DRPs.<\/p>\n
DRPs Atoholi, Vihuka Chishi and the BRPs presented their findings and the respective village secretaries read out the Gram Sabha resolutions. All the respective villages reaffirmed the seven point Gram Sabha Resolution and this was also read out for the public.<\/p>\n
