{"id":187604,"date":"2018-11-27T11:59:32","date_gmt":"2018-11-27T11:59:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2018\/11\/27\/wokha-dist-declared-organic-tea-zone\/"},"modified":"2018-11-27T11:59:32","modified_gmt":"2018-11-27T11:59:32","slug":"wokha-dist-declared-organic-tea-zone","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2018\/11\/27\/wokha-dist-declared-organic-tea-zone\/","title":{"rendered":"Wokha dist declared organic tea zone"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/http:\/\/new.nagalandpost.com\/cms\/gall_content\/no_images_650x.jpg><\/p>\n<p>Wokha district has been declared as organic tea zone and to mark the day, Wokha District Small Tea Growers Association (WDSTGA) organized a programme at LTC hall, Wokha on Tuesday.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>District Agriculture Officer Wokha, Santsu Kithan, thanked the association for their untiring contribution in making the district an organic tea zone.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>He encouraged the tea growers to desist from using chemicals, pesticides and insecticides, and emphasized on free plastic zone.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>He also promised to extend help from the government like imparting training and seminars through ATMA.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Hundreds of enthusiast tea growers participated in the programme.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Meanwhile, WDSTGA has reaffirmed to its earlier resolution that no tea growers in the district will be allowed to use any kind of chemical inside or outside the farm.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>It also prohibited application of manure and salt in the farm and application of insecticides and pesticides on tea leaves.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>The association will also ensure that tea growers maintain their farm a plastic free zone.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Further, WDSTGA cautioned that stringent action will be initiated against any growers found violating the above precautionary measures which will even led to cancellation of his\/her registration and any business opportunity will be ceased.<\/div>\n<div>Earlier, in the programme, associate pastor WTBC, Rev. Abemo Jungio invoked God&rsquo;s blessing while welcome address was delivered by WDSTGA vice president, Shanpanthung Ngullie.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Demonstration on making organic tea was given by WDSTGA joint secretary, P. Renpomo Lotha and the affirmation of its resolution was read out by WDSTGA general secretary, H. Orenpomo Ngullie.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>The programme was chaired WDSTGA president, R.
