{"id":187761,"date":"2018-09-01T12:32:22","date_gmt":"2018-09-01T12:32:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2018\/09\/01\/pak-temporarily-closes-consulate-in-afghanistan\/"},"modified":"2018-09-01T12:32:22","modified_gmt":"2018-09-01T12:32:22","slug":"pak-temporarily-closes-consulate-in-afghanistan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2018\/09\/01\/pak-temporarily-closes-consulate-in-afghanistan\/","title":{"rendered":"Pak temporarily closes consulate in Afghanistan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/http:\/\/new.nagalandpost.com\/cms\/gall_content\/no_images_650x.jpg><\/p>\n<p>Pakistan has temporarily closed its consulate in the eastern Afghan city of Jalalabad over &ldquo;intervention&rdquo; by the provincial governor and a lack of security.<\/p>\n<p>In a letter to the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pakistan&rsquo;s embassy in Kabul complained about intervention by the governor of Nangarhar province and requested that he refrain from interfering in the functioning of the consulate.<\/p>\n<p>The Pakistani mission also requested that Afghan authorities restore security on the premises. It said the consulate will remain closed until security arrangements are completed to the embassy&rsquo;s satisfaction.<\/p>\n<p>The closure of the Jalalabad mission is a reflection of strained relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
