{"id":187960,"date":"2018-09-24T12:20:30","date_gmt":"2018-09-24T12:20:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2018\/09\/24\/top-acts-september-edition-season-2-held-in-kohima\/"},"modified":"2018-09-24T12:20:30","modified_gmt":"2018-09-24T12:20:30","slug":"top-acts-september-edition-season-2-held-in-kohima","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2018\/09\/24\/top-acts-september-edition-season-2-held-in-kohima\/","title":{"rendered":"Top Acts: September edition- Season 2 held in Kohima"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/2018_9$large_act.jpg><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;Muskan Youth Centre under the aegis of FPA India Nagaland branch conducted the September edition of Top Acts Season 2 on September 22, at Muskan Youth Centre, Kohima under the theme &ldquo;Safe Spaces for youth&rdquo; which was also the theme of 2018 International Youth Day.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A press release from M&amp;E officer FPA India Nagaland branch, Sentilemla Lonkumer stated that youth need safe spaces where they can come together, engage in activities related to their diverse needs and interests, participate in decision making processes and freely express themselves.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Safe spaces ensure the dignity and safety of youth.&nbsp; Safe spaces such as civic spaces enable youth to engage in governance issues; public spaces afford youth the opportunity to participate in sports and other leisure activities in the community.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;Top Acts running into the 2nd Season is a humble programme aimed at the Young People to enable them space and platform to showcase their skills in any performing art. All 4th Saturdays are booked for Top Acts at the Muskan Youth Centre which also serves as the Reproductive Health &amp; Family Planning Clinic (RHFPC) Satellite Centre during other working days wherein services on Child Immunisation, Family Planning counselling and free services including adolescents&rsquo; friendly centre services are available at Kohima near the NSF Martyrs Park.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;Any young artist desirous to participate in any of the Top Acts edition may send a short demo of their performance and join for free on the appointed 4th Saturday.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Top Acts is designed for young people to exhibit, share and learn in a safe space where the ambience is positive reinforcement and to help channelize youth power to constructive growth.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;The September edition of Top Acts witness different genre of music and dances performed to the cheering group of friends and well wishers where all the artists were debutants at the Top Acts. Guest artists &ldquo;The One Destiny&rdquo; band also entertained the crowd with their brilliant performances.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>All contesting artists performed their best in their given slot and as in the tradition of Top Acts, it was however Sentisangla Oungth who outshined everyone and won the Best Performer Title with her melodious voice accompanied by her Ukulele.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;Upcoming artist Dieze Sothu who is a pillar of Top Acts encouraged the youngsters to pursue their dreams though simultaneously they should perform well in their studies as well.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>He also inspired the youngsters by sharing about his struggles in the music industry and motivated the young artist to stay humble despite gaining popularity. He advised to stay away from tobacco or any health hazard activities.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>He also gave away the certificates to all the participants and best performance certificate and prizes.
