St. Joseph University (SJU) Dimapur organized “Futuristic Innovations in Science and Technology (FIST)-19” — a one day science exhibition — on Science Day, March 1. The event was aimed at giving students a common platform where they may give shape to innovative ideas, and was also aimed at creating awareness about the importance of science and technology among the younger generation.<\/p>\n

A press release from SJU Dimapur PRO, Fr. Justin stated that the exhibition was inaugurated by retired professor Anna University Chennai, Dr. C. Jebaraj. In his speech, he pointed out the importance of transforming science into technology for the benefit of society. Vice chancellor, Dr. D. Gnanadurai, in his special address, explained how innovations in science and technology ensure safety as well as luxury in human life.  <\/div>\n
The inaugural program started with a prayer by Fr. Justin. The exhibition witnessed the participation of 200 students with 50 models from various colleges and schools. The exhibitions were evaluated by a panel of distinguished judges from the National Institute of Technology. Holy Child School won the first prize cash award of Rs.15000 and Holy Cross Higher Secondary School won the second prize of Rs.10000. In the college level, St. John College was awarded the first prize with a cash award of Rs.15000. All the participants were given participation certificates.<\/div>\n
Registrar, Dr. Kanchana, and administrator, Sr. Thynase, congratulated all prize winners and also appreciated the organizer and student volunteers for their tireless efforts to make the event a grand success.<\/div>\n
