He along with his contemporaries including Glenn Kaiser, Bloodgood, Stryper, Barren Cross made materials which later came to be labelled as ‘Christian Rock’.

Rex’s commitment towards this passion led to opening up of different ministries and mission opportunities, which he says was similar to a passage in the Bible where a servant who was given a few talents used it wisely and made huge returns.

Rex is affiliated to a local Evangelical Free Church and when he is not touring or doing gigs he plays with the worship band every Sunday.

He says that whenever Whitecross hold concerts, he seizes the opportunity to share his testimony and the gospel which is also accompanied by Praying with individuals for salvation, for healing, for needs to be met.

In his words Rex says, “Even something as simple as living your life intentionally makes a huge impact so let your light shine before men so they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in Heaven! You are the salt of the earth.”

Drummer of the band Michael Feighan joined Whitecross in the year 1991 with the release of ‘In The Kingdom’. He said joining the band changed his life completely as within two weeks of his joining the band was touring all over the United States and also doing international shows.

Admitting that although he was new to the Christian Rock scene he was enjoying the success of the band and also realised how the band was so genuine in “ministering Jesus to a hurting world.”

Michael said he holds one of the band’s shows so dear where his father received Jesus as his personal saviour and not long after that he passed away.

He continued saying that being with band for the past 16 years and getting involved in different international ministries had inspired him and his wife to adopting a Russian child which he referred to as being the “most rewarding and important decision apart from giving their hearts to Jesus.”

Micheal said Whitecross had touched countless lives over the years and he’s hopeful that during the India trip, God would do what He does best.

Benny Ramos, who has being paying bass for the band since the year 2000 says he had a long lineage and strong connection to mission works.

Benny is heavily involved with New Hope Missions founded by his father which oversees 38 churches in the Monterrey Mexico area.

Benny says ever since a life changing experience with the band during a show in Guatemala, he had been using his gift of music to help others in need and that people had always welcomed him with open arms.

Benny considers it a great privilege being able to do mission works with the band and also use his gift of music to encourage others who are less fortunate and also spread the gospel of Jesus at the same time.

Peter Stenlund, who replaced the founder vocalist Scott Wenzel, recalls of his encounter with the band way back in 2001 when he was doing a festival called ‘Solid Rock Festival’.

Apart from fronting Whitecross Peter is also the managing director of Metal Mass, a heavy metal music service of worship where the traditional hymns are adapted to heavy metal style, following a Lutheran service pattern. He is also involved with other Christian metal bands including Narnia and Laudamus.

Peter says that his ministry had always been about being reality and not about being emotionally carried away, but to present the gospel in a relevant way for the audience and the people who he works with.

The band will be performing one April 16 at Dimapur District Sports Complex from 5:00 p.m. onwards. Besides the concert, members of the band will also hold a workshop at Father’s House Church, 7th Mile, Chümoukedima, Dimapur on the morning of April 16 from 10 a.m. onwards.

For more details about the concert one may call 7005-14-7849, 9089-40-9715 or 8730-95-7422.

[688

post-196070","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","category-infotainment
["GET
