Bendangnukshi Longkumer graced the occasion as the chief guest. In his speech he recalled how the union was first formed at the United Theological College (UTC), with late Rev. Deo Angami as the first president and himself as the first general secretary. While acknowledging officials of various organizations, including NSUB, he also encouraged all the Naga community to be united and dream big for the future.<\/p>\n<p>NSUB president Nuthipru Nienu congratulated the pioneers and vigilant leaders of the NSUB and expressed his delight of how the NSUB has grown in leaps and bounds and how it now stands tall and proud.<\/p>\n<p>Stating that the &ldquo;NSUB has been a launchpad to express our identity, an anchor of unity, a refuge in times of distress and a platform to showcase our values and cultural heritage&rdquo;, he also expressed that Nagas have to recognize that peace and unity are costly affairs and can never be achieved unless the Nagas agree to eliminate biased mandates and work for the common welfare of the people.<\/p>\n<p>Convener of the golden jubilee planning committee Bendangyanger Longkumer recalled how the organization started in the year 1969 as a small group and how through the years, the Naga people made huge difference in terms of growth and development of its organization.<\/p>\n<p>Naga Christian Fellowship (NCF), Bangalore pastor Rev. Zhabu Yimsung, dedicated the golden jubilee souvenir and memento. Golden jubilee choir welcomed all the members to the programme with their singing and beautiful display of unity with various Naga tribes representing the choir from the Berean Baptist Bible College and Seminary, Bangalore.
