Visitors at the ongoing Hornbill Festival are undergoing a unique digital experience as a completely digitised temporary museum has been set up for the first time in the State near World War II museum at Kisama.<\/p>\n
With an area measuring 3,000 square feet, the digital museum has been set as part of celebrating 150 years of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary by Bureau of Outreach & Communication under the Union information & broadcasting ministry. <\/p>\n
The initiative has been taken with an aim to create awareness among the masses about the contribution of Mahatma Gandhi towards social progress and his values, and has themes like “Clean India, Vibrant India and India of Bapu’s dreams”. Every visitor entering the hall experiences a fully digitalised environment with latest technology, which has been arranged by Tagbin Services Pvt Ltd, a leading experiential marketing company that designs and executes experiential spaces like museums, experience centres and events and shows. <\/p>\n
The visitors can pay floral tribute to Gandhiji by just pressing a button, view his entire life and struggles during India’s freedom movement, world leaders inspired by his principles, etc, on a giant smart TV screen by simply pressing a button on the screen itself. <\/p>\n
With the motive to create mass awareness on Clean India to fulfil Gandhiji’s dream and also as part of the Central government’s initiatives under Swachh Bharat, the giant digital screen has been installed with special software, even as the initiative discourages use of single-use plastic and promotes segregation of wet and dry waste. <\/p>\n
There is also a live screen play where visitors can see how to do waste management in front of the giant screen.<\/p>\n
More than 60,000 people have already taken vow not to use single-use plastic till Tuesday, even as the organiser informed Nagaland Post that its target was to make 10 lakh people take the vow by the end of Hornbill Festival, which would create a sense of responsibility towards the cleanliness initiative. <\/p>\n
