{"id":206494,"date":"2019-10-02T11:59:37","date_gmt":"2019-10-02T11:59:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2019\/10\/02\/naga-artistes-perform-in-malaysia\/"},"modified":"2019-10-02T11:59:37","modified_gmt":"2019-10-02T11:59:37","slug":"naga-artistes-perform-in-malaysia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2019\/10\/02\/naga-artistes-perform-in-malaysia\/","title":{"rendered":"Naga artistes perform in Malaysia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/2019_10$large_rattle.jpg><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;The 16 artistes from Nagaland who were selected to be part of the 7th edition of International Handshake Concert in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia performed at the &lsquo;150 years of celebrating Mahatma Gandhi&rsquo; organised by the High Commission of India Kuala Lumpur in partnership with Cyberjaya University College of Medical Sciences (CUCMS) at the Grand Hall, CUCMS on Wednesday.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In the 15-minute musical performance allotted to Rattle and Hum Music Society, the artists presented three music pieces including the English hymn- Abide With Me, one of the favourite songs of Mahatma Gandhi, Jai Ho- an upbeat song of victory celebrating his victorious life and a piano piece (specially arranged by accomplished pianist, Zubeni Kikon) with a solo dance act as a tribute to the great soul.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>These acts produced by Rattle and Hum Music Society are powered by the Task Force for Music and Arts (TaFMA), YRS, Government of Nagaland.<\/p>\n<p>During the observation of &lsquo;150 years of Mahatma&rsquo;, UN Resident Coordinator, Stefen Priesner gave a special address while High Commissioner of India to Malaysia, Mridul Kumar also addressed the gathering. Earlier, Tan Shri Dr. R.Palan, Pro Chancellor of CUCMS gave the welcome remarks.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Other highlights included &lsquo;Mahatma&rsquo;, a Kathak Dance Repertoire by NSCBICC Kathak teacher and students and a rendition of song &lsquo;Sabarmati Ke Sant Tune Kar Diya Kamal&rsquo; by Dr. Hardev Kaur and group.
