Benjamin Newmai notified the resignations and consequent acceptance of legislators&#8211; w.e.f. from January 2, Amenba Yaden (Ind) of 21-Tuli A\/C; w.e.f. January 3, Er. Levi Rengma (Ind) of 12-Tseminyu and S. Chuba Longkumer (Ind) of 24-Angetyongpang; w.e.f. February 2, Y.M. Yolow Konyak (Ind) of 42-Wakching, Toyang Changkong Chang (Ind) of 53-Tuensang Sadar-I and Er. Picto (Ind) of 32-Atoizu and w.e.f. February 3, G. Kaito Aye (NPF) of 36-Satakha.<br \/>\nConsequent upon their resignations, the Speaker has declared the seats mentioned against their names as vacant.<br \/>\nThe main reason for the spate of resignations was that the legislators wanted to avoid being disqualified under the anti defection law while joining other political parties. <br \/>\nA number of NPF legislators who resigned had joined other parties and likewise independent MLAs. <\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NLA speaker has accepted the resignations of seven more legislators from the 12th NLA.
