{"id":213985,"date":"2020-06-08T12:24:46","date_gmt":"2020-06-08T12:24:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2020\/06\/08\/tnr-on-salary-parity-for-contractual-nurses\/"},"modified":"2020-06-08T12:24:46","modified_gmt":"2020-06-08T12:24:46","slug":"tnr-on-salary-parity-for-contractual-nurses","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2020\/06\/08\/tnr-on-salary-parity-for-contractual-nurses\/","title":{"rendered":"TNR on salary parity for contractual nurses"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/http:\/\/new.nagalandpost.com\/cms\/gall_content\/no_images_650x.jpg><\/p>\n<p>In regard to the cabinet decision made on June 4 by the state government to recruit more doctors and nurses to battle the coronavirus pandemic in the state, The Naga Rising (TNR) pointed out that the pending grievance of the nursing community was yet to be resolved and &ldquo;which is most likely to lead to a spat of resignations.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<div>In a letter to the principal director DoHFW, Nagaland, The Naga Rising stated that frontline workers were at the receiving end of the state government&rsquo;s insensitivity, while on the other hand it was desperately looking to recruit more nurses and doctors.<\/div>\n<div>The Naga Rising has requested the principal director to intervene and take urgent necessary steps to boost the morale of the frontline workers. TNR stated that, firstly the insensitive and discriminatory notification must be withdrawn immediately. It asked that salaries of the present contractual nurses need to be enhanced at par with their regular counterparts. Thirdly, TNR stated that it was imperative to recruit new health workers, where the new nursing recruits should not be paid less than Rs. 20,000\/- per month, as per the SC direction.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Pointing out that some of the nurses have reportedly sought to resign if their demand for relief in terms of pay enhancement was not met, The Naga Rising stated that, government should use COVID cess fund to cover the increase in the salary of the nurses during the pandemic period.<\/div>\n<div>Further, The Naga Rising stated that the pleas made by nurses have been met with intimidation and threat to blacklist from any further employments in future if the employees (read nurses) failed to return to work within 7 days.
