{"id":214964,"date":"2020-06-22T12:43:30","date_gmt":"2020-06-22T12:43:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2020\/06\/22\/ku-demands-proper-representation-of-tribes-before-forming-ssb\/"},"modified":"2020-06-22T12:43:30","modified_gmt":"2020-06-22T12:43:30","slug":"ku-demands-proper-representation-of-tribes-before-forming-ssb","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2020\/06\/22\/ku-demands-proper-representation-of-tribes-before-forming-ssb\/","title":{"rendered":"KU demands proper representation of tribes before forming SSB"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/http:\/\/new.nagalandpost.com\/cms\/gall_content\/no_images_650x.jpg><\/p>\n<p>Konyak Union (KU) reaffirmed to stand by its earlier resolution on the issue of Nagaland State Selection Board (SSB) and was opposed SSB &ldquo;current concept of NSSB&rdquo; in the general interest of unemployed Konyak youth unless the State government committed itself to giving representation to tribes based on their population ratio.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>Acknowledging the State government taking various reformative steps, the union in a release also demanded &ldquo;social and economic justice and equality&rdquo; in regard to government employment sector.<\/div>\n<div>Expressing solidarity with Eastern Nagaland People&rsquo;s Organisation (ENPO) and Eastern Nagaland Students&rsquo; Federation (ENSF), KU emphasised that any reform by the State government should be brought only after consultation and endorsement of every stakeholder of Naga society.<\/div>\n<div>Despite being one of the most populous tribes, KU regretted that Konyak tribe&rsquo;s representation in the government sector was very marginal and negligible.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>While the present roster system of recruitment under Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) and allied departments lacked consistency and uniformity, the union said there was also unequal distribution among the tribes.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>The union lamented that though it had raised the issue before the State government a number of times, the latter had not taken any concrete measures thus far.<\/div>\n<div>Considering the plight and sufferings of the educated unemployed youths and with an uncertain future, KU appealed to the government that, any rectifications under the present system should be as per the population ratio of the particular tribe or community.<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KU demands proper representation of tribes before forming SSB<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[679],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-214964","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","category-nagaland-news"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/214964","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=214964"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/214964\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=214964"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=214964"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=214964"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
