{"id":217711,"date":"2020-07-14T09:24:14","date_gmt":"2020-07-14T09:24:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2020\/07\/14\/hd-constable-convicted-for-sexual-assault-on-minor\/"},"modified":"2020-07-14T09:24:14","modified_gmt":"2020-07-14T09:24:14","slug":"hd-constable-convicted-for-sexual-assault-on-minor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2020\/07\/14\/hd-constable-convicted-for-sexual-assault-on-minor\/","title":{"rendered":"Hd. constable convicted for sexual assault on minor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/http:\/\/new.nagalandpost.com\/cms\/gall_content\/no_images_650x.jpg><\/p>\n<p>In a fast track case under POCSO Act, the Special Court Phek Friday convicted police head constable, Zaphet Kuki, serving under DEF Phek for &ldquo;committing aggravated sexual assault on the child victim (minor), insulting her modesty&rdquo; while on duty at Lanye Check Gate.<\/p>\n<p>In a press release, government pleader cum public prosecutor, Samuel Ritse said the judgment was pronounced by District and Sessions Judge, Phek, Mezivolu T. Therieh, who also holds the Court of Special Judge, POCSO, within seven months of taking cognizance of the offence.<\/p>\n<p>The Prosecutor said the incident took place on January 18, 2020 when the accused, who was on duty at Lanye Check Gate, went to a nearby house cum hotel and sexually molested the girl child.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutor Ritse said that the accused was convicted and sentenced for a term of six years imprisonment and fine of Rs. 5000 under section 10 of the POCSO Act and in default of payment of fine he shall further undergo one year imprisonment.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The accused was further sentenced to one year imprisonment and fine of Rs. 1000 under section 509 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and one month imprisonment under section 29 of the Police Act.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In case of default of payment of fine of Rs. 1000, Prosecutor Ritse said the accused shall undergo two months imprisonment and that all the jail sentences are directed to run concurrently.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutor Ritse informed that the Court also directed that on the recovery of total Rs. 6000 as fine from the accused, victim girl child shall be paid Rs. 5000 as compensation.&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hd. constable convicted for sexual assault on minor<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[679],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-217711","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","category-nagaland-news"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/217711","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=217711"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/217711\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=217711"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=217711"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=217711"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
