Zangkham village council, Mothers ‘ Association (KNSK), Students’ Union and College Students’ Forum of Zangkham village under Tizit sub-division, Mon; Dimapur Eastern Nagaland Students’ Union (DENSU) and Konyak Nyupuh Sheko Khong (KNSK) Kohima unit have vehemently condemned the alleged rape of a minor girl in Dimapur.<\/p>\n
In a joint statement, Zangkham village council chairman, Wangbat; president KNSK Zangkham village, Ngapkhao; president ZCSU Z. Paiwang and president ZCSF Thingkap Z expressed shock at the inhumane act of the alleged accused– Nungsang Lemtur alias Nungsangoba 43 years, currently residing at Diphupar ‘B’. They said that the victim, a bonafide citizen of Zangkham village, was working living as a domestic help in house of the accused. They said that the victim had alleged that she was sexually harassed and rape four times in several occasions. While condemning the “inhumane and barbaric act”, the organizations urged the concern authority to deliver justice and punish the guilty as per the law.<\/p>\n
DENSU: <\/strong>Dimapur Eastern Nagaland Students’ Union also condemned the alleged rape of the minor by one “Nungsang Lemtur @ Nungsangoba”, a resident of Diphupar B, Dimapur on multiple occasions. DENSU expressed concern over the incident and urged the investigating agency to leave no stone unturned so that justice was delivered in the court of law. <\/p>\n It said crimes, especially rape, dehumanize societies and letting the perpetrators of such crimes go unpunished was a threat to the society. <\/p>\n DENSU also said that the perverted mindset of the perpetrator of such heinous crime should be condemned by all.<\/p>\n KNSK Kohima:<\/strong> KNSK Kohima unit president Lemnon Wangsha and general secretary C.N. Moe Konyak condemned the “unbecoming and shameless act” of Nungsang Lemtur. <\/p>\n KNSK unit demanded befitting punishment against the culprit and urged all right thinking citizens to speak up and rescue such children in need and build a support system for a crime free state– a safe and secure environment for all children.<\/p>\n KNSK unit said it was disheartening to note that despite raising such issues against increasing child abuse, particularly against domestic helpers, such atrocities\/crimes were still continuing unabated. <\/p>\n The unit further lauded the prompt action taken by the leaders from Tizit area residents in Dimapur. <\/p>\n Staff Reporter adds: <\/em><\/strong>Dimapur police on August 29, arrested the 43 year old accused.
