{"id":220274,"date":"2020-10-28T13:05:38","date_gmt":"2020-10-28T13:05:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2020\/10\/28\/2nd-dtbf-meeting-held-in-longleng\/"},"modified":"2020-10-28T13:05:38","modified_gmt":"2020-10-28T13:05:38","slug":"2nd-dtbf-meeting-held-in-longleng","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2020\/10\/28\/2nd-dtbf-meeting-held-in-longleng\/","title":{"rendered":"2nd DTBF meeting held in Longleng"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/http:\/\/new.nagalandpost.com\/cms\/gall_content\/no_images_650x.jpg><\/p>\n<p>The 2nd District Tuberculosis Forum (DTBF) Longleng meeting was held at DC&rsquo;s conference hall on October 28, wherein Dr Temsusashi, district tuberculosis officer (NTEP) Longleng delivered the keynote address and gave a brief introduction on how TB was manifested and its treatment.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>A press release by CMO office district media officer, Roseline stated that, he also spoke on the government&rsquo;s policy in implementing a national strategic plan to end tuberculosis by 2025, which was launched by prime minister Narendra Modi in March 2018. Dr Temsusashi also gave a detailed presentation on the objectives of District TB Forum, notification performance against target from January to September 2020, signs and symptoms of TB in adults and children, specific district plans to eliminate TB from the district.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>For this, he said there will be increase in awareness and sensitisation to the public through NGOs, and programme staff will be enhanced, with sensitisation training for NTEP staff, medical officers, and ASHAs. In order to motivate the ASHAs, Dr Temsusashi said that the NTEP Longleng will come up with a commendation award for the best performing ASHA based on TB case notification which will start from next year on annual basis.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>DTO also said that the most active TB survivor will be chosen as an ambassador for NTEP activities in the district with the slogan, &ldquo;Let us all join our hands together and work towards TB free Longleng&rdquo; and&nbsp; &ldquo;Longleng district, the first district in Nagaland to eliminate TB.&rdquo;&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Additional deputy commissioner Longleng, D. Robin in his short speech congratulated DTO and his team for the activities taken up by NTEP in the district.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>He also encouraged all the NGOs, and ward presidents who attended the meeting to give proper awareness and disseminate the information so that people from the far flung areas and villages can come and avail the services from the DOT Centre.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Short speeches were delivered by Dr Lhouvizotuo Belho, medical superintendent District Hospital, and chief judicial magistrate, Longleng, Ajongba Imchen.<\/div>\n<div>During the voluntary speeches and discussion, Tongang STS (NTEP), spoke on the process on how TB was treated and the incentives for the TB clients. One of the TB survivor also gave a testimony in the meeting, where she encouraged everyone to come forward and avail the free treatment.
