{"id":221361,"date":"2020-12-30T11:25:50","date_gmt":"2020-12-30T11:25:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2020\/12\/30\/nagaland-declared-as-disturbed-area-for-another-6-months\/"},"modified":"2020-12-30T11:25:50","modified_gmt":"2020-12-30T11:25:50","slug":"nagaland-declared-as-disturbed-area-for-another-6-months","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2020\/12\/30\/nagaland-declared-as-disturbed-area-for-another-6-months\/","title":{"rendered":"Nagaland declared as \u2018disturbed area\u2019 for another 6 months"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/http:\/\/new.nagalandpost.com\/cms\/gall_content\/no_images_650x.jpg><\/p>\n<p>The Centre has declared Nagaland as &lsquo;Disturbed Area&rsquo; for another six more months under the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act with effect from December 30, 2020.<\/p>\n<p>In a gazette notification, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs stated that the Centre was of the opinion that the area comprising the whole of the state of Nagaland was in &ldquo;such a disturbed and dangerous condition&rdquo; that the use of armed forces in aid of civil power was necessary.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 3 of the AFSPA, 1958 (No.28 of 1958), the Central Government hereby declares that the whole of the State of Nagaland to be &lsquo;disturbed area&rsquo; for a period of six months with effect from 30th December, 2020 for the purpose of the said Act,&rdquo; stated the notification.<\/p>\n<p>AFSPA, which empowers security forces to conduct operations anywhere and arrest anyone without any prior notice, has been in force in Nagaland for six decades now.<\/p>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nagaland declared as \u2018disturbed area\u2019 for another 6 months<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[679],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-221361","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","category-nagaland-news"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/221361","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=221361"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/221361\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=221361"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=221361"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=221361"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
