Talitemsula Jamir also clarified that confirmation of dengue positive is done only through Elisa test available in Dimapur District Hospital and NHAK Kohima.

She also said NVBDCP conducts vector study every month in and around Dimapur district and different indices are recorded that refer to number of dengue mosquito population. Further the SPO said as of October and November study in Dimapur, the indices were relatively low. She also said fogging activities and awareness campaigns on dengue were also undertaken at vulnerable localities.

NVBDCP also appealed all to remove water in all containers around the house such as flower pot bases, empty vessels, coolers, tyres, buckets etc since dengue mosquitoes breed in stagnant water in which eggs hatch in a week.

NVBDCP also advised that all water filled vessels and tanks be tightly covered besides removing any rubbish lying around plastic cups, old containers, tyres, coconut shells etc. and to inspect compound every week. It also advised all to sleep under mosquito nets during day/night and more care be given to pregnant women and children. NVBDCP has advised those having high fever to immediately consult a doctor.

[679

post-222916","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","category-nagaland-news
["GET
