{"id":222919,"date":"2020-12-08T12:55:42","date_gmt":"2020-12-08T12:55:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2020\/12\/08\/nida-backs-ima-s-december-11-protest\/"},"modified":"2020-12-08T12:55:42","modified_gmt":"2020-12-08T12:55:42","slug":"nida-backs-ima-s-december-11-protest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2020\/12\/08\/nida-backs-ima-s-december-11-protest\/","title":{"rendered":"NIDA backs IMA\u2019s December 11 protest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/http:\/\/new.nagalandpost.com\/cms\/gall_content\/no_images_650x.jpg><\/p>\n<p>In response to the nation-wide protest of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) against the Central government&rsquo;s decision to allow practice of modern surgical procedures by Ayurveda doctors, the Nagaland In Service Doctors&rsquo; Association (NIDA) has decided to withdraw non-COVID and other non-essential medical services across the State on December 11 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.<\/p>\n<div>In a statement, NIDA president Dr. E. Phyantsuthung and joint secretary Dr. Thomas Keppen, however, said that Covid related medical services and other emergency services will be functional.<\/div>\n<div>It may be recalled that the Central Council of Indian Medicine&ndash; the regulatory body for the study and practice of Ayurveda in India &ndash; amended the Indian Medicine Central Council (Post Graduate Ayurveda Education) Regulations, 2016, to include the regulation to permit post-graduate students of Ayurveda to receive training and practice of &ldquo;shalya&rdquo; and &ldquo;shalakya&rdquo;.
