Minister for planning & coordination, land revenue and parliamentary affairs, Neiba Kronu on Tuesday said that agricultural activities were the sole area to boost the state’s economy.<\/p>\n
He was speaking at the inaugural programme of first VDB village building at Kütsapo village in Phek district on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
The minister encouraged the people to take up coffee, cardamom and other cash crops on commercial scale.<\/p>\n
He assured the farmers that the government was always willing to assist the farmers in finding the market.<\/p>\n
He said that Kütsapo was a legendary village and urged upon the villagers to live up the good legacy of being the first VDB village in Nagaland.<\/p>\n
Speaking on infrastructural and economic development, Kronu challenged the people to focus more on human resource development for a progressive society.<\/p>\n
Further, while assuring to work for an all round development, he encouraged the people to advocate the development of Phek area and to beautify Phek town.<\/p>\n
During the programme, DRDA Phek, project director Ruzukhrii D. Vasa, NDPP former candidate Kupota Khesoh and Chakhesang Public Organisation, former president Sovenyi delivered speeches while purpose of the first VDB village Kütsapo was highlighted by VDB secretary, Vechikhoyi Lohe.<\/p>\n
Message from Sano Vamuzo, wife of late Phesao and family members of late Gokhale were also read out on the occasion.<\/p>\n
The programme was chaired by Zashevezo Rhakho while welcome address was delivered by Kutsapo village council chairman Shevotso Rhakho.<\/p>\n
Vote of thanks was proposed by first VDB secretary Dukhiiyi Vadeo. Phek DC Razouvolie Dozo, Phek SP Vesupra Kezo, Phek BDO Kuhuchiyi Vadeo, NDPP Phek Region president Mosonyi Domeh also attended at the function.<\/p>\n
It may be mentioned that VDB was first formed on December 6, 1976 in Kütsapo village with the initiative of the then Phek deputy commissioner AM Gokhale and was implemented throughout the state under the leadership of Vamuzo Phesao, former chief minister of Nagaland.<\/p>\n
VDB Kütsapo constructed the two storeyed building under MGNREGA 2017-2020 in remembrance of the two.<\/p>\n
They have named the ground floor after late Phesao to house a library and the first floor as AM Gokhale hall.<\/p>\n
The building constructed under MGNREGA 2017-2020 was to be inaugurated by Padma Shri, Gokhale but due to his demise on April 18, the building was inaugurated by Neiba Kronu.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
